I remember the day I took this picture so vividly.
I was having a bad day and I just kept pushing. I decided if I worked on my art (in this case makeup) then I would just feel better.
I sat down and tried to express 'anger' through my makeup and expression, but instead of releasing the feeling like I had hoped, I was really just punishing myself for feeling angry and making myself feel worse.
So in honor of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's campaign #MentalHealth4All for Mental Health Awareness Month, my action is to give myself permission to have bad days and to not beat myself up for not feeling OK when I really need to be taking care of myself and being kind.
How will you support #MentalHealth4All ?

I am in the process of trying to create a social media network for suicide intervention, prevention, and education. My goal is to begin reversing the stigma of mental illness through aggressive action. I need individuals with experience in handling suicide and crisis situations. I believe with the right group of people reaching out we can stem the flow of suicide statistics. #Veteran #Suicide #PTSD #SuicidePrevention #AmericanFoundationForSuicidePrevention #CheckInWithMe #Depression #Anxiety
It’s hard to put into words how it feels to live in the grey area of suicide; where you can go light grey easily, but can go so dark just as quickly #LivingGreyDaily has made it easier for me to be outspoken about my experiences, and be the Warrior and Advocate I am, despite the low donations, I’m spreading the word and showing up, and representing a small collective of #MedicalCannabisAdvocates . We’re showing how nature helps the mental aspect of this terribly misunderstood & unfortunate part of life. It cannot be swept under the rug! I refuse to let it! I’ll keep my lighthouse lit for all, and continue to walk for everyone who can’t. #AmericanFoundationForSuicidePrevention
