Apologies in advance if this turns out to be a long rant.
I rent a room from a woman who has a five-year-old. They, for all intents and purposes, moved out some months ago to go live with the woman’s boyfriend. 90% of her stuff is still here and so are a lot of the child’s toys and such. I get a decent deal on rent but not that good. She comes over to get mail with her child. He likes to start playing with his toys. I don’t blame him but he coughs and sneezes open mouthed and doesn’t really understand the concept of covering his mouth or using a tissue. At his age it is normal to get these colds and coughs and have his little immune system become proficient at fighting them off. But here we are in a pandemic and I have a compromised immune system and they’re coming over here a little more often because I guess they’re bored doing the sheltering in place thing at the boyfriends house. And the kid is open mouth sneezing into the air and mom basically does nothing. The other problem is that they aren’t taking Covid seriously, like a lot of people where I live. She and the boy are going to barbecues and social events with her boyfriend and I am certain they are not practicing social distancing or wearing masks. The boyfriend thinks Covid is a hoax.
I’m frustrated. I really need a place to live right now. But I’m not feeling very safe. There’s a chance she might come over today. I’m going to have to talk to her. And I’m not sure I’m gonna do it. Thank you for letting me rant! #COVID19 #shelterinplace #compromisedimmunesystem

So I was able to get some kind of coverage (Out of pocket). Met my new PCP. She walked in with a mask. Said she was getting over a cold. Reached out to shake my hand. Thoughts running through my head: " I don't want to shake her hand I know I'll get sick bcuz my immune system is compromised" " I don't want to be rude tho I'd like this visit to go smooth" "I don't want to tho but I don't want her thinking am rude or snobby" "Uuuuugggghh!!". I shook her hand 🙄. Now am sick and since am not like healthy ppl it's worse than how they get a flu. Why'd I shake her hand? now am paying for it. I could have easily said "forgive me if I do not shake your hand I have a compromised immune system and I can't risk getting sick" . Now was that so hard uggh no but did I think of it in the moment no. Damn brain fog was on that day pretty strong couldn't focus. I have an autoimmune disease and low compliment levels which makes me very susceptible to infections. I’ve had several skin infections in the past 6 months and have had to be on antibiotics 4 times in that time. Antibiotics are a regular part of my life and sometimes I worry about having to take them so often and what the implications of that may be. Doctors never seem to address this with me or seem concerned. Is anyone else in the same boat? #compromisedimmunesystem #AutoimmuneDisesase #antibiotics

I was sick weeks ago and now im sick again! Im very Caeeful to not touch grimy doors, waSh my hands and use hand sanitizer.... but I cant help it if I have to be exposed to others Who are Walking around sick. And now im sick again. And its going to cost me. I cant work through this. Why cant sick people stay at home and not spread their germs?!
