Illness Is Illness - Period. (Healing Pt. 1)

As a human with a physical body, you have physical health.

As a human you have teeth, you have dental health.

As a biologically male human, you have prostate health.

As a biologically woman, you have ovarian health.

As a human with a heart, you have heart health.

Therefore, as a human with a mind, you have mental health.

Illness is illness. Just like you can’t snap out of having a fever, cancer, cavities, or a broken leg - you cannot just “snap out” of severe depression, schizophrenia, bipolar, OCD, PTSD, or crippling anxiety. If you wouldn’t compassionately tell someone with a shattered femur to “walk it off”or “fake it til you make it”, then I implore you to not tell someone who is literally being attacked from within their minds and their souls to just try to shake it off. Be supportive. Encourage them to try doing little things - simple things that may be easy for you but hard for them. When they get up after days to take the trash out or clean their room or make pancakes, embrace and celebrate the fact that they’re trying! Because we are. We are trying. If you’re reading this and you are the one fighting an illness - KEEP FIGHTING! Every day, every moment, every step.  #BipolarDepression   #Bipolar2Disorder   #AnorexiaNervosa   #BulimiaNervosa   #ChronicIllness   #Depression   #Anxiety #BorderlinePersonalityDisorder #Healing #Hope #NEDA #TWLOHA

For Someone Who Lost but Never Stopped Fighting

What happened to Kiris has been on my mind for a couple of days now. I hate saying that news like this doesn't surprise me anymore but it doesn't make it any less painful. We all just want to find happiness consistency and balance. and good lord is that hard to find. Kiris struggled every day. It pained me seeing her fighting every minute of every day. she never took a break. When there is a virus inside of a body the immune system is in nonstop combat until it's gone. For whatever reason... whatever that virus like thing was in her mind and maybe her body too Kiris was fighting it every single day. Painfully. Tirelessly. It's like the Hydra from Greek mythology. You cut one head off and two more appear. One battle leads the another even stronger one. What do you do You either put don't your weapon hoping for the small possibility for mercy... or you keep fighting... and sometimes the fight is all you know. You live off of the pride of the fight. You live off of the high of the fight the adrenalin the strength. Maybe the fight is your identity a part of who you are and who you have always been. And you can't bank on chance of mercy because not only will you loose the fight but you will loose yourself too. You just don't know what to do. They say ignorance is bliss but it really isn't. knowledge is power but it really isn't either. People believe that having all the knowledge having all the help you can get will put an end to the struggle defeat the hydra kill the virus. They say "You have all the tools you know what you need to do , " but you really don't. because knowledge doesn't kill the virus. Medicine doesn't even kill a virus...So you turn back to the fight because that's who you are. You are terrified to give up and give in to your greatest fear... Kiris was scare of her fears but even more scared of being defenseless to her fears. I wish so badly that she and the rest of us could find our peace and balance. I wish with all of my heart that she could have. All i can say is that I want every single person I know to continue on the Pursuit of Happiness... find your peace find your balance for the sake of those that we have lost. #NEDA
