Has an MRI diagnosed something an x-ray didn't show #Fibromyalgia

My new rheumy wants an MRI. X-rays showed bone spurs in hips and mild joint disease that my rheumy shrugged off as "getting older". I'm only 39! CRP and sed rate normal, hla b27 positive, ANA neg.

He does agree that my pains are probably unrelated to my fibro so he's thinking #AnkylosingSpondylitis or #sacroiliitis .

I'm freaking out at the cost of the MRI ($500), but he says that he can't make a diagnosis without it.

He also says fibro can get worse... never read about this before?

Has anyone had success with MRI over x-ray?
