Who do you need to have a conversation with that you’ve been putting off? #52SmallThings

The first step in doing anything that’s difficult is identifying what it is you need to do. In this case, who do you need to have a chat with that’s a bit difficult that you’ve been putting off? Maybe they’re a family member, a friend or your partner. Or maybe they’re even someone on your health care team.

Without giving away any super identifiable information (like their names), who is that person for you?

Talking It Out: #Depression #Suicide #Anxiety

I spent a few hours talking with an individual who has struggled with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts over the past few months/years. In our conversation the individual stated that they have a difficult time sharing the feelings and pain. So I encouraged the person “just to talk and vent” as a way to work through the deep seated pain. I encouraged her to seek professional help (counseling) and see her doctor for medical advice concerning medication.

I find it helpful to be “open” about the struggles of depression and anxiety. Talking it out has helped me cope and recover through this process. #talkitout
