Down every rabbit hole!!

This picture says it all… if you know, you know.

My daughter has been down just about every rabbit hole we could think of.

The recommended diets.
The supplements.
The treatments.
The endless suggestions from well-meaning people.

Every new thing came with hope — maybe this is the answer — only to be followed by disappointment when it didn’t help.

It has been expensive, overwhelming, and emotionally exhausting.

After all the searching, she finally stumbled upon a diagnosis, and with that came some answers at last.

I know so many carers and parents will relate to the cycle of hope and despair that comes with trying everything for someone you love.

Sometimes the hardest part is carrying that hope over and over again, only to watch it fade.

Have you been down similar rabbit holes before finding answers for your loved one?

Are there any good books out there about losing weight when you have chronic illnesses?

I am genuinely disgusted with how I look and how much I weigh. I’m so embarrassed about it. I weigh around 17stone, which is 108kg or 238lbs. I am 5ft 7in tall.

I have never been skinny. I have never been “the right weight”... I’ve tried so many different diets but they’ve never worked. I think this might be because I don’t exercise. It’s so difficult. According to my cardiologist I’m not allowed to let my pulse go above 170bpm... But just standing up pushes my heart rate up to 140bpm because of my Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.

I also have Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome which makes my joints so very sore all the time, and a bladder condition called Interstitial Cystitis that causes a lot of spasms and pain.

I so desperately want to lose weight but I don’t even know where to begin - my GP referred me to a weight loss service a year ago and I didn’t lose any weight at all. Does anyone know of any good self help books about exercising with chronic illnesses?

Thank you all in advance. Stay safe, everyone.
