Well....it has been a wild ride this weekend. My grand baby has a temp of 101.3 (he went to the hospital yesterday with a fever of 106.8...very scary). My daughter has a temp of 103. And I have a temp of 100. Now I get low grade temps from time to time on the regular. Not sure why....but it is all just a part of my many random issues. Ugh! Anyway....I am just trying my best to relax and let all this mess pass. I am praying I get to work on Monday. 🤦‍♀️ #Workingwhilechronicillyill #Sarcoidosis #Migraine #PCOS #Hyperthyroidism

I hope you guys are insured!! #MedicalBills

I have Medicaid. It pays for just about everything, but we are a long way from universal healthcare.
How are you guys paying for your healthcare and medical bills? #ChronicIllness #HidradenitisSuppurativa #Disabled #unemployed #sick #Workingwhilechronicillyill

Explaining resume gaps due to mental/psychical disabilities

I’m trying to reassimilate back into the work force. It’s been a long run of jobs for a few years, jobs for a few months, unemployment, short term disability, repeat....

I have lived with anxiety, depression, PTSD, stomach problems, and chronic pain my whole life. It has greatly affected my work presence and life. I was laid off for medical reasons in early 2019 from my teaching job and tried to work at Starbucks later that summer, but even with accommodations, was unable to perform to their standard and was pressured to quit.

This past year I was stuck between a rock and a hard place while applying for Disability Services. It took 8 months for them to tell me I’m disabled, I can’t work I’m a field I have before, but I’m young and chipper and can work remotely and learn knew things!

Great, while I am young and chipper, I am also disabled. So I’ve begun looking into local and online services to assist me in finding remote work... the truth is I don’t even really know where to begin.

If anyone has suggestions or can guide me with some assistance, I really appreciate it.

Taking things one day at a time. Thanks,
Anna

Working While Sick

Working full-time can be tiring for anyone but working with a chronic illness can be especially draining. our bodies use up so much energy fighting off symptoms and dealing with chronic pain that there is little energy left to deal with work. Additionally, concentrating while chronically ill can be extremely difficult. Brain fog is real and hard to fight.

On top of the symptoms, keeping a smile on your face while fighting a chronic illness can be hard at times. I’ve found myself in the bathroom crying on several occasions. But, you feel like you have to keep a straight face like everyone else around you.

So be kind to your fellow co-workers. You never know what someone else is going through. and to everyone out there with a chronic illness, you are not alone. And, know that you are so strong.

Balancing not complaining with being honest

I've never been good at the whole not oversharing thing (thanks #ADHD) . But I've been getting worse about it with regards to my  #ChronicPain. I don't want to freak people out with my issues. And I don't want people to think that I'm making excuses or complaining for the sake of complaining. But I want the people in my life to know about my pain not for pity but so that they can be aware there's a reason I have to do things differently. How do I know who to tell and when It's not like my pain just comes up in conversation. #BackPain #legpain #worklifebalance #Workingwhilechronicillyill

Painsomnia

Laying in bed in and out of sleep. Counting the hours between now and work. You know, the whole “I’ll get 5 hours and 12 minutes if I fall asleep right now” thing.., my back hurts about a 6/10 and I just desperately want to sleep so I can function at work tomorrow. #Painsomnia #Workingwhilechronicillyill #SickleCellDisease #Sicklecellwarrior
