Let's Talk Anxiety
3.7K members
Anxiety looks different for everyone. It can be something you carry with you regularly like a dominant diagnosis, or a symptom that pops up alongside a chronic illness or during an uncertain time or period of grieving. It’s also more than just panic attacks. Anxiety can manifest as physical symptoms such as sweating or stomachaches. In our Let’s Talk Anxiety group, we welcome anyone who experiences this condition, whether you’ve been formally diagnosed or not. Connect with folks who get it and share your (anxious) story in a safe, judgment-free zone.

Check In With Me

#CheckInWithMe is our flagship Mighty program. It started as a single hashtag and has now grown into thousands of members who check in with each other daily (and in turn, ask others to check in on them too!). It embodies everything The Mighty strives to be: a place to show up exactly as you are. This group is an extension of that hashtag. Post about what you’re going through, ask for advice, or post a pep talk that someone else might need to hear. Thank you for living out the #CheckInWithMe promise every single day.

Whether you’re a seasoned self-care pro or you’re new to our community, 52 Small Things is our weekly self-care program with a Mighty twist. Every week we’ll challenge you to a new self-care task. Some might be more on the pampering side, such as exercising your creative muscles or indulging in a “guilty pleasure.” Other might be what’s referred to as “boring self-care” — you know, tasks that might not feel as exciting but prioritize your well-being (like cleaning or practicing personal hygiene). In this group you can find all of our prompts — past and present. Share your experiences and encourage others along their self-care journey by posting here with the hashtag #52SmallThings!

End The Stigma
309 members
Let's change how we talk to ourselves, our families, and society about mental healthcare. Mental illness is like any other illness and should not be stigmatized. We don't need to burden ourselves with guilt for having a mental illness. We don't need to be ashamed of medication or treatment. We should be proud of taking care of ourselves. Let us encourage eachother and educate others. ❤

Here I use the Arcade Theory instead of Spoon Theory, hence the name: Save Quarters. I’m looking for things like easy recipes I can do even with fatigue, any tool or item that can make life easier, and any physical practices that can help me. I too wish to share the things that have helped me to save others from long bouts of trial and error. I hope my personal journey can help someone make theirs better faster than I was able to, and to benefit from others in the same way, let’s use our collective experience to save each other time and effort searching.

I created this group to provide a space for people going through job or career challenges or transitions, which are affecting their mental health. I am an HR Practitioner with over 20 years of experience, and I myself have experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly about work. Hopefully this space will allow us to support each other, share our stories, and know that we are not alone. Everyday hundreds of people around us, in our communities, go through mental health issues triggered by a work experience or a work / career transition.

Abortion Healing
19 members
The stigma around abortions is so hurtful and toxic. People get one for various reasons. It can be medically necessary. It can be a personal necessity (i.e. domestic relationship). Whatever the reason, it is a choice that sticks with you for life. It is a hurricane of emotions, a mountain of grief to carve through and something only people who go through it will understand. I don't see any groups for this topic so I am making one and all are welcome to share their stories and experiences. I want to know how people cope. How people move forward. How people decided. The good, the bad and the messy. Any and all of it that you feel comfortable sharing. There will be no negativity. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I would like to welcome you to this group . Our goal here is to remind you your worthy , Because YOU ARE!

I often feel like I can't relate to my generation nor have I ever been able to feel that but I noticed that whenever I have been in facilities for adults/hospital settings I am often asked for my age multiple times because they don't believe me-I look younger than I do yet I speak like I've lived decades longer than someone else my age- it's hard to make friends for me because I can't talk about things that other people my age are doing for I'm currently incapable of for my body. I wish it'd allow me- I have a hunger for learning and growth/a thirst for knowledge. I wish I could go to work or college...Maybe one day. For now instead of letting those thoughts bitter me I'd rather create a space for people that I can possibly relate to- a place free of hate and malignant judgment-no ableism,ageism- you know all the isms haha- to those who feel isolated in an advancing technological but at times humanly immoral world- I love too much to not try. Education is Elevation,Knowledge is power.

Being a parent to little ones is hard. Being a parent to small kids while living with BPD- is even harder. I get it. I created this group for those of us who are still navigating and healing from our own childhood traumas that led to our BPD while also figuring out how to be the parents our kids need us to be. This is a safe place to discuss the challenges, triggers, emotions, insights, successes, highs, and lows of all that comes with being a parent who lives with BPD. A little about me: I am a mom to 4 little kids and have been living with a BPD diagnosis for 10 years. I struggled to find a community out there of parents who live with BPD. I could go to a usual parent support group, but never felt like it was a safe place to discuss the the intense emotional struggles I was experiencing in my parenting journey. Here, you are seen, loved, supported, and important. All of you is welcome here.

This is a group for leaders and aspiring leaders who are neurodivergent and/or live with mental illness. The focus of mental health training in organizations is often focused on leaders learning how to support workers, not on how leaders may be supported, themselves. This is only the start of a discussion, as I hope the group will evolve to offer more over time. Let's see what happens! :)

IIH Warriors
6 members
IIH is a rare neurological disorder that affects every aspect of daily living. Since it is such a rare disorder, it is difficult to find support, pain relief, and treatment options. Therefore, this group is here to provide that support to those suffering with this condition through an exchange of encouragement and life hacks, as well as compare pain relief and treatment options that may be beneficial to others.

Wether you have OCD, or love someone with OCD… this group is a safe space to ask questions, give advice (if asked), learn about what OCD really is, or the treatment options available for OCD, and more. Please refrain from giving reassurance to others in this group, as reassurance feeds into the disorder and can make their OCD worse in the long run. The gold standard treatment for OCD is ERP therapy (exposure response prevention therapy). I do understand not everyone is ready and/or able to get an ERP therapist or participate in ERP therapy; but please make sure to keep a ERP/recovery mindset when sharing in this group. Don’t hesitate to ask questions about ERP therapy or OCD :)

This group offers a space for those still practicing Covid precautions, or those struggling with chronic ailments or loss amidst the ongoing pandemic, to lament the current reality of organized abandonment. We’ll adopt a leftist, anti-capitalist, de-colonial lens that allows us to touch on a wide variety of topics. We’ll talk about health-related things like disability justice, chronic illness, mental health, and collective care, along with how they intersect with other forms of oppression and resistance around the world. If you think you might be interested, we’d love for you to tell us a bit about yourself and join! We have the message board, and we’ll also host an optional monthly reading group on Zoom to keep the conversation going. Time commitment for the meeting is about 2 hours a month (1 for reading and 1 for meeting), but even those who didn’t do the reading are welcome to attend. We’ll send the login info, and hope to see you there! In solidarity, Collective Care Leadership

Sᴇʟғ - Hᴀʀᴍ; Individuals might be doing it because they don't have the words to explain what they're experiencing. But it's important you know that you can support them. Having open honest discussions really does help everyone involved. Mental health illnesses untreated can, unfortunately, re occurre, having huge impacts on everyones mental wellbeing surrounding the sufferer. Having the correct resources available to them, that are relevant locally and can be useful and enables signposting. It is really important and beneficial in Prevention, Social Policy issues which are major contributors to everyone’s overall wellbeing include but not exclusively; Social Isolation and Loneliness . Surviving the loss of someone you loved to suicide isn’t a badge we wear with pride, its something most people try really hard to keep locked up, inside their own minds. Feelings of guilt and grief, it can be very consuming and we all need time to heal, learn and educate ourselves

Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence is a diagnosis for those with a small hole in their skull between the brain and ear area, specifically the superior semicircular canal. It usually takes years of bad diagnoses before arriving at the correct diagnosis because it is rare, and few healthcare professionals know what they are looking for. Hypersensitivity to sound changes your way of life and relationships. Whether you have received this diagnosis or not, you may get ideas on making your life easier with sound sensitivities. There is a heavy focus on faith in God to build a purposeful and impactful life even from this hard place with sensory overload and pain.

Throughout my career as a social worker, I have worked with countless caregivers. I have come to intimately know the compassion, strength, and challenges caregivers live with every day. I have helped caregivers face loneliness, worries, fears, and the heartwarming experiences they face on their caregiver path. My passion for helping caregivers goes back even further to the years I watched my father struggle with these same challenges when he was a caregiver for my mother and younger brother. Throughout my career as a licensed therapist, I heard too many stories with caregivers telling me "I don't know what to do" or “No one seems to get it!” So, I have created this safe space for caregivers to gather together and form a unique community of support. You can access support from the comfort of your home without having to search all over the internet or your local community. I know your time is valuable and your days don’t usually run on your schedule.

D.I.D Explained
0 members
This group is for those who suspect they or a loved one might have Dissociative Identity Disorder also known as D.I.D. I will post information that I wasn't given. I had to learn about D.I.D on my own. I'm not a therapist or psychiatrist. Not enough is known about D.I.D. It is a stigmatized and misunderstood disorder. I know how difficult it is to live with D.I.D. I finally got diagnosed with D.I.D at age 36. It was a relief. I knew the symptoms I was experiencing weren't normal. The advice that I'm giving is based on personal experience alone. The information you can find online for yourself. This is a safe place where we can talk as a group. If you believe that you may have D.I.D. I suggest that you see a therapist and psychiatrist that specializes in trauma, personality and disassociative disorders. Good luck finding the truth for yourself. Once you find the truth your life will never be the same and at least you will no longer feel alone or conflicted. Best wishes and welcome.
