Comfort items for difficult days

What do you do when your symptoms flare up?
Do you listen to music? Cuddle with a plushie? Wrap up like a burrito in a blankie? Eat dino nuggies?
I got this hoodie for days when I feel particularly yucky. It's super cozy and very soft. It makes me feel safe.

How do you stay calm and positive during a flare up ? I find my self diving into a pit of despair and realising that before the flare up I was doing ok ….. but not realising it and being grateful for it before it was too late .
Now my anxiety is on red alert…… will this be days …. Weeks …. Or months ? Will it ever actually even get better ?
I only got to day 5 before I sobbed like a baby . Im sure the time of year plays a big part . I hate the winter …. I hate the dark mornings/evenings and im sorry to say I also hate Christmas!!! Work was v stressful before the Xmas break which could have triggered it I guess . Any tips on mentally calming the soul would be appreciated?? I hope peace finds you all soon 💙💚

Frustrated with myself!

Playing with my new lighting and I actually had my hair and makeup done!! Doesn't happen to often!
Even though I have been up and down with pain, I realize that my brain fog is really horrid right now! I can't get my words straight ( little kids are having a blast with it and we have a good laugh) I am forgetting words and it gets embarrassing while I was out but what is making me real frustrated is Iam forgetting to unplug the car and drive off ( really cold here) also, I keep forgetting to lock the garage and keep the keys in the door. We live in an area where people will take anything. So we have been very lucky!
My husband got upset, rightly so! What he was saying was true. He is getting frustrated with me too! It pulled on the heart strings and I told him I am sorry, but I am going through a bad case of brain fog and I don't know what else to say. I went to the laundry room and had a cry. I went to my room to put my clean bedding on and he came and gave me a hug and apologized.
We are all human, I know and respect that he is not always going to get my illness and see I am struggling off the bat! So instead of getting mad back, I let him have his frustration cause I know I am with myself and I would be too if it was one of the kids doing it! Once he knew I am struggling with my memory and crap he came around. That is my favorite part because he is very sweet and gentle towards me!
Another realization for me with understanding is that I think the people living with chronic illness is that, we should be the ones being understanding toward our loved ones.
We know the reality of the illness and they don't. We know what we are going through and again they don't. Our illness effects them too. They can only guess what we are going through and they are not always going to get things right! We need to be understanding and patient. Communicate what is going on and what you need. I always express that for them to understand they have to go through what we are going through and we don't want this for them.
So we need to be the understanding ones and remind ourselves we are all human!
Take care everyone!
