Never Alone

This is one of two plaques I have on my wall with this poem that has always spoken to me. I have always loved the coast and feel closest to God when I'm there. The expanse and beauty of the ocean reminds me of His immensity and my finite nature.

Until recently I did not know that this poem is derived from a specific scripture in the Bible. Psalms 77:19 beautifully illustrates the invisible presence of our Creator and Comforter:

"...yet Your footprints were unseen."

This also reminds me of a scene from the series The Chosen where Jesus explains to Nicodemus the Holy Spirit. He illustrated the concept by alluding to the wind saying you can't see it yet you can see and feel the effects of it.

What can we take away from this? When in the midst of our pain, when we feel very much alone, we aren't. For those of us who believe and trust in the presence of the One who loves us more than any other, we are never alone. For those of you who don't, He is gently nudging you toward Himself so that He can supply you with the same comfort and peace that only He can give:

"…a peace that surpasses all understanding." - Philippians 4:7

Not only that, but as portrayed in the movie, The Shack, and spoken in Psalm 56:8, He is not only with us but:

"You collect all my tears in a bottle."

It is so good to know I don't have to go it alone.

Sacred Stigma?

This post encompasses both of my groups, #IntercessionforIllness and #StopTheStigma . It also brings together my dual calling.

The original meaning of the word #Stigma means "mark" or "brand". It also refers to a tattoo (which will get me back to the pic in a moment). The plural for stigma is stigmata which speaks of marks resembling the wounds left on the body of Christ after the crucifixion.

One of my tat goals is to symbolically replicate said wounds onto my body as a way to make real for me what I believe was done for me. The dots on my wrists are representative of the nails driven through the wrists into the wood of the cross.

Regardless of your personal beliefs, I encourage you to rethink the word #Stigma . Maybe it's time we take that word back, bringing it back to it's original meaning, making it a good mark or brand onto our identities no matter what that may mean for you.

I am so appreciative of your reactions and responses to my posts, you have no idea, but it’s not me speaking (or typing) the words. I can't take the credit. I am merely a mouthpiece, a vessel, for Christ. I could not do this without Him. It is He who is turning my trauma, wounds, scars, and pain into empathy for and desire to support, you. In order to fill myself with His love so that I can pour out His love onto you, I am praising and worshipping Him this morning to my favorite worship band, Hillsong. It is soothing to my spirit and healing to my soul. #IntercessionforIllness #hillsong #praise #worshp #christ #Soothing #Healing #Empathy #Support #MightyTogether #TheMighty

A prayer for each one of you

Lord I ask you to please bring your peace and comfort to each and everyone on this site. You know their pain. You know their wounds and I ask right now that you surround each and everyone of them with your presence. Please love on them in a way they've never known. Please heal their deepest hurts and give them the hope they so desperately need. Please let them know just how much you love them and just how valuable their lives are, not only to you, but also to this world. You are amazing Lord and I love you. In Jesus'precious name I pray. Amen. #peace #Comfort #Hope #Love #Healing #value #Valuable #Faith #god #Jesus #IntercessionforIllness #MightyTogether #TheMighty

I would like to share with you why I decided to create my two new groups.

I seem to have dual callings on my life and I thought they'd be best explained by my chest tats.

If you have gone to my profile then you have seen in my bio my military - inspired description. That is because for my entire life I have been in a war and everyday is a battle. In order to externalize my inner fight, the words on my chest are survivor, fighter, soldier, and warrior and no I have never been in the military. My war consists of my survival of trauma and mental illness. My battles are my daily efforts to find and maintain equilibrium.

The cross in the middle has the semicolon placeed on top. The reason for this combo is because not only do I fight my own battle but I do what I can to #StopTheStigma by advocacy and education. The cross because it is my strongest weapon against my enemy and because I have been called to alleviate whatever pain I can in others through #IntercessionforIllness . I have been called to be Jesus' hands and feet and His ambassador on this earth.

I desire to inspire others to fight these battles alongside me. Our enemy is fierce and we need as many as we can get as many soldiers as we can get to fight the good fight. A lot is riding on this. It is literally life and death. I don't want to see anymore lost to our adversary. Suicides can be prevented if we band together to be difference makers.

Any takers?
