The mysterious case of the Norwegians and the train:

I am currently on holidays in Poland. It took 40 hours to get here from Australia but worth it.

Yesterday we got a train to a famous Polish beach.

At the train station platform for the return trip we were approached by a bunch of stressed Norwegians who asked, “Is this the train to Gdansk?”. After looking at their ticket I explained there are three train stations in Gdansk and they had bought tickets one station short of what they wanted.

This information stressed them even more. I assured them they would be ok and I would help them if the conductor raised objections.

They got in the train but we got separated once on board.

The mystery is:

Why on a platform full of locals did they choose some Aussies to ask for help?

Did they change the designated ticket buyer to someone else in their group for future trips?

Did they get where they wanted to go?

We have laughed much remembering this strange experience.

A mystery indeed.

It’s time for a laugh. What if the wackiest, strangest, funny, gift you have received?

One year my Mother-in-law gave my Brother-in-law and I, a rotary nose hair clipper. We thought it was a joke. However, the look on the givers face said it wasn’t.

We tried it, ouch. No cutting, just pulling. It has however given us a few laughs as we remember it over the years.

It’s Spring here in Australia. I recently went to a beachside cafe with friends and included in our group was a teenage boy. I asked him if he wanted to earn an easy ten dollars. He jumped at the opportunity.

I dared him to walk over to another table who had their dog with them. He said exactly what asked him say. With a straight face he said, “Can I please pat your cat” They looked at him, stunned, and said, “It’s a dog”. So he just repeated the line, “Can I please pat your cat?”.

He did pat the dog/cat and the look on their faces as he walked back to our table was priceless. $10 well spent.

One of the best thing about being a Grandparent is the opportunity to be silly. Sometimes I will day to my 7 year old and 9 year old Granddaughters, “Guess what I saw yesterday?” I will then tell them I saw a “tree” or something equally mundane.

The looks on their faces is priceless. They have no idea whether to laugh or pray for me. The simplicity of laughter in battling mental health should not be overlooked.

Watching a good comedy is so good for my mental health!

What makes you laugh out loud?

A few years ago, I saw on a Facebook group I was in for singletons in my area, an alternative dating event to be held in a supermarket on a Monday night. The supermarket remained open as usual and no advertising or fuss was made of the event. Basically, you showed up, strolled the aisles and if you were looking for love, you would place a bunch of bananas 🍌 in the front right corner of your trolley. If you passed a fellow love seeker who was displaying their bananas, you could then start to chat, discuss the benefits of bananas in a healthy, balanced diet, possibly exchange numbers and interact without the pressure of being in a bar or club.

I got there about 8.30pm (it was a 8pm start) and strolled leisurely around the aisle. Once, twice round and no sign of anyone else doing the same. An hour had now passed by and I thought It’d be best I put some more things in my trolley and not just the bananas. Well, I lasted for about 2 hours and left my trolley by the baby changing room and darted out the door. I looked on Facebook to see if the event was actually on that night and I’d not got it wrong. Well, where I lived in Salford there’s a Morrison’s at one end of Eccles New Road and one at the end of Trafford Road, they’re about 2 miles apart. I’d walked the two miles difference 5 times over, I’d got the night right, I’d just gone to the wrong f*****’ supermarket hadn’t I 🤦🏻‍♂️😂🛒🍌

#52SmallThings I like to wake up and find something right away that makes me laugh. When I get dressed I like to wear something whimsical that makes me and others giggle especially earrings ! I bought cute earrings for this Fourth of July weekend will post ! Hopefully it will not rain at some point but at least I have a sun on my ring lol!

Staying active is important to me but recently I have been experiencing more MS pain. My family is supportive and because I don’t drive my daughter and her children like to keep me busy ! I am in the car watching them they are in the back seat they make me laugh !
