New diagnosis, Finally.

For years I was misdiagnosed with neuropathy in my left leg. On Monday I was finally diagnosed with #CRPS . Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I already had a feeling that it was CRPS. My EMG results helped solidify the diagnosis, and that I didn’t have neuropathy. I left the office yesterday feeling empowered more than anything else. I finally can say for sure what I am dealing with and I can keep doing research to proactively keep my quality of life decent. I also have #UlcerativeColitis , and #IrritableBowelSyndromeIBS so I try to be as proactive in my care as much as I can. Proactive with my diet, my exercise, my mental health, and knowing my limits. Thankfully, I have already been doing things to help my journey with chronic pain and chronic illness. It sucks being sick and in pain 24/7. What I am most thankful for is that I have such a wonderful support system, and I am capable of advocating for myself. If I had accepted my misdiagnosis of Neuropathy years ago, I would’ve never gotten the proper testing to find my true diagnosis. I am thankful for being stubborn, and I don’t treat a Doctors word as if it is the law. I do my own research because knowledge is power, and if I don’t stand up for myself, no one else will.
