I'm new here!

Hi, my name is Sunflowerlilypad0186. I'm here because I have struggled with Anxiety GAD and Depression, Panic Attacks etc since I was 14, I am now 26 will be 27 this year and I’ve been struggling a lot with super bad severe anxiety and depression, but it’s been really scary because my body symptoms are different than usual, now leading to bad full body stress cramps especially the legs/ calves, sometimes my hands. Being lightheaded, faint feeling or dizzy, and IBS etc, sleep issues. Last year I had really bad Sensorimotor / Somatic OCD, especially the breathing type. I really hope things get better I feel really down :( and feel like I’ll be struck this way, I try so hard but I always feel stressed.

If your mind feels cluttered or noisy, this is one of the fastest ways to clear it.

Many people feel mentally overwhelmed because their thoughts never get processed, they just keep looping. Journaling works because it does the same thing talking to a trusted person does. It helps you externalize your thoughts so you can understand them instead of being buried by them. Simple practices like a five minute brain dump, a short gratitude list, or writing to your future self can reduce mental clutter and increase clarity over time. You do not need to be consistent or good at writing for this to help. You just need to start. Which of these journaling practices feels like the easiest place for you to begin?

What’s on your “need to get to” list?

As we adjust, change, and revisit our daily, weekly, or monthly to-do lists, there are tasks, responsibilities, or goals that naturally rise to the top as priorities—whether because of the time of year or other life factors. Whether they’re health- or self-care–related, or part of our “adulting” duties, what’s something currently on your “need to get to” priority list?

What’s something that has surprised you as you’ve learned more about your mental health?

Growing up, I had little knowledge or understanding of what it meant to take care of my mental health—that is, until I had to make it a priority. Even now, it still surprises me how much effort, support, energy, and confidence it takes to remain resilient. Sometimes I feel incredibly tired and exhausted from keeping up with my treatment and care.

What about you?
What’s something you’ve found surprising?

Feel free to share your thoughts below. 🙂

You don’t have to control your thoughts.

Most people think mental strength comes from controlling their thoughts, but real progress happens when you stop treating every thought as urgent or true. By pausing, labeling thoughts as mental events, and redirecting attention back to the body or the present moment, you interrupt the automatic cycle that fuels anxiety and emotional spirals. This is a skill that gets easier with repetition, not perfection. Even a few moments of not following a thought can give your nervous system relief. Which thought do you notice pulling you in the most lately?

Also, if you're going through a tough time right now, I want you to know that I post daily mental health videos about how to deal with painful thoughts.
