What's something you avoid because it can be triggering to your mental health?

One of the biggest lessons I've learned when it comes to caring for and prioritizing my mental health comes down to two things:

1. Knowing what is helpful for me and incorporating it into my regular routine.
2. Knowing what to avoid because it can be triggering or even harmful to my mental health.

As someone who thrives in spaces where I can be curious, explore, try new things, and take on challenges, it was difficult for me to realize that sometimes it's best not to engage in certain situations. One example for me is avoiding certain high-stress work environments or academic spaces. Even though I tend to be a high achiever and know I can succeed, willingly putting myself in fast-paced, high-stress spaces isn’t helpful for me and can trigger my anxiety and PTSD.

What about you? What are some things you avoid because of your mental health? What are some things you do instead because they feel more supportive or helpful?

When you become comfortable with uncertainty, infinite possibilities open up in your life.

Many people wait for certainty before they act. The problem is that certainty rarely arrives first. Progress usually begins with small actions taken while things are still unclear. When you shift your focus from trying to control the future to simply taking the next step, uncertainty becomes less frightening and more full of opportunity.

What is something in your life right now where uncertainty is stopping you from taking action?

Also, if you're going through a tough time right now, I want you to know that I post daily mental health videos about how to deal with painful thoughts. I tend to procrastinate when...

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks has a complicated relationship with procrastination. One of her biggest challenges involves her relationship with sleep and free time — and knowing when to allow herself to rest instead of convincing herself she’s just “being lazy” or using procrastination as an excuse. She doesn’t have to be “on the go” all the time, but she would like to get her tasks done, take care of herself, and still get enough sleep every night.

What are your thoughts? What’s your relationship with procrastination? When do you tend to procrastinate?

Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below! 💭

How to Stop Your Mind From Creating Worst-Case Scenarios

Your imagination is one of the most powerful tools your mind has. The problem is that many people unknowingly use it to create worst-case scenarios about the future. When you repeatedly imagine failure, rejection, or loneliness, your brain begins to treat those imagined outcomes as if they are real, which increases anxiety and discourages action. But the same ability can be used in the opposite direction. If you consciously imagine yourself practicing, improving, and moving toward your goals, you reinforce motivation and confidence. The skill is not eliminating imagination, but choosing how you use it.

When your mind imagines the future, does it usually go to the worst-case scenario or the best-case scenario?

Never be a prisoner of your past.

Many people stay mentally stuck in the past because their mind keeps replaying painful memories, regrets, or mistakes. But those experiences were not meant to imprison you. They were meant to teach you something. When you begin asking what a difficult experience taught you instead of why it happened, you turn pain into growth and give your past a purpose.

What is one lesson your past has taught you that made you stronger today?

Mindset Reset: A Simple Trick to Defeat Negative Thoughts

Self-defeating thoughts happen to everyone. Thoughts like “I’m not good enough,” “I’m going to fail,” or “I can’t do this” can easily spiral and hold you back. One powerful way to break that cycle is to externalize the thought and challenge it directly. Write the thought down and begin with “I used to believe…” Then follow it with “But now I believe…” and replace it with a belief that leads to action. This simple shift turns a negative thought into a practical plan for moving forward and reminds your mind that beliefs are not fixed.

What is one negative thought you’ve caught yourself believing lately?
