I'm ending the week on a _______ note.

It’s Friday, Mighties! ⭐

Although Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks had a long week and is learning how to manage her time better, she’s ending her week on an uplifting note. She’s looking forward to trying food from a new restaurant with someone she cares about and taking a walk along the East River where she lives — one of her favorite ways to unwind!

What kind of note are you leaving the week on? High? Low? Confusing? Frustrating? Hopeful? Restful? Mixed?

Finish the sentence below! 👇

What’s been your experience with counseling or therapy?

Seeing a counselor, therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist is one of many paths you can take when seeking support for your mental health. For me, searching for a therapist was my first step—even before I fully understood what kind of help I needed or how long I’d need it. I remember going on the Psychology Today website and exploring different options. Since I was the first in my immediate family to seek this type of help, I didn’t really know what to look for or what to consider in a therapist.

Fast forward six years later: I’ve found one-on-one therapy to be really helpful, especially since the focus is entirely on me. Therapy has been the one place where I can be vulnerable and open up without worrying about taking care of everyone and everything else around me.

What about you? Have you tried therapy or counseling? What have been the pros and cons for you?

Feel free to share your insights, advice, tips, and experiences below!

🧘 Why meditation isn’t about silence — it’s about awareness

Many people think meditation means sitting still and trying to clear your mind.

But that’s not what it is.

Meditation isn’t about silence. It’s about awareness.

It’s noticing your thoughts instead of drowning in them.

It’s learning to see what’s happening inside you without judgment or resistance.

When you’re struggling with depression, your mind can feel like a storm. It’s loud, chaotic, and never-ending.

Meditation doesn’t make the storm disappear. It helps you realize you’re not the storm. You’re the one watching it.

And from that awareness comes something powerful: clarity, calm, and the understanding that you don’t need to control everything to be okay.

Have you ever tried meditating when your thoughts felt too heavy? What happened?

Also, if you're going through a tough time right now, I want you to know that I post daily mental health videos about how to deal with painful thoughts. So if you or anyone you know is struggling and wants help, click on one of the links below or write me if you have any questions you want me to answer:

What’s something you’re avoiding right now?

Whether it’s a trauma response, a way to protect yourself and stay safe, preserve your energy, or something else entirely — avoidance often has a reason behind it. Sometimes it’s our body’s way of saying, “I need a little more time,” “I’m not ready for this,” or “I just don’t have the bandwidth to manage it right now.”

There’s no shame in that. We all have moments when we step back or pause before moving forward or making a decision.

What’s something you’ve been avoiding lately? What do you think it might be trying to tell you today?

Meltdown

I had a big meltdown. I returned to the narrow closet again. (I do it often). But this one was bad, I kept banging the back of my head against the wall. But they told me earlier this week that I'll be transferred Thursday, today they told me Friday. Why did they change I hate that. I refused the meds and I was obviously not communicating nor cooperative with them. I'm tired of all of it.

They couldn't handle it, they were being touchy and I hate that. They were so mad.

Banging my head gave me a migraine. No meds help me and it last for days.

My S thoughts aren't disappearing. They never disappear, they're always here since I was a little kid. My anxiety won't leave me too and it's tiring. I constantly feel like I'm being watched, on listening. Everywhere I go I need to search for hidden cameras, micro, people etc. I can't help it. This feeling is so strong I'm exhausted.

They don't want me to die but they don't help me to like be alive.
