I’m new here!

Hi, my name is KimberlyMartin. I'm here because I am caring for my husband. He is a veteran with TBI & has a lot of issues not only with his brain injury but ptsd as well. I am really struggling to hang on to take care of him. He is paralyzed on his right side & has extreme difficulty with aphasia/his speech & communicating. He has little impulse control & has rages or what I call ‘episodes’ that can last anywhere from a few minutes to days. He has two different ppl living inside him that he can’t control. I am just looking for some support from those that are also going through this. I want to keep him at home but I’m struggling severely. Thank you for listening ❤️

I’m new here!

Hi, my name is hereweare2026. I'm here because I’ve been here before. Someone in my life, found pleasure in invading my privacy to teach me a life lesson, that imploded on itself, being done out of malice and harm. A lesson I did need though I taught to myself over years. I had spent four years in therapy, using the Mighty app as a way to process and express, in written format. I had suffered a tbi and writing, is great repair in multiple areas of the brain.my diary entries were made public to my estranged family members and read, shared and mocked. And then used to try to manipulate and discredit me. And I shared a couple entries, I had written. I was unaware of the implications and damage it would catapult. My intentions were not to cause problems and I am aware, now, that I was being too open about my experiences, no one understood. But that was the point, to be transparent and real.My family had excluded me by choice, my entire life as a means to maybe, humble me, but excluding me, was to hurt me. I was not a thought or afterthought and I, do remind them of that, by just, showing up, it is a true reflection, of the act itself. I am, their, trauma. The neglect, guilt and shame. I thought removing myself would have given space only to find out the plotting and scapegoating never ceased. I am no longer fostering relationships with one sided arguments, insults, characterzations and stories made to humiliate and shame others. Privacy was taken in the guise of care. Consent wasn’t given and that has implications to trust. Any type of privacy. I will not tolerate that type of treatment from anyone in my life, even my Son... I didn’t raise him to be this careless and ineffective in accountability in accepting his role when wrong, when he’s blatantly wrong and what he’s done, for THEM, WITH THEM, was WRONG. He has shown me more of a man’s humility than the, grown adults that were in charge. Not once, did anyone in the extended family reach out to me directly out of concern or to communicate. This is why I kept outsiders out. And yes, my family, from birth were outsiders, who hurt me, to me and mine. I will continue to tell my truths to help my life move forward. It is not my intention to tell other’s story and I do not make it a practice to give narratives to others lives and experiences.Gossip and harassment is a learned, sickening behavior and now I see all for who they were, for years. If you do not like someone, for who they are, all their good and bad qualities, leave them alone. Don’t speak of their life, past experiences, relationships or future. Shut it and live your life OR learn How, to be their extra support system. Learn HOW to advocate for them.. How do You, make someone else shine? Do you criticize or encourage? Do you belittle behind their back or are you genuinely trying to be caring? It is easy to complain about others lives when you never have to face the things you’ve said about them! I think about this, a lot because I’ve watched them squirm when I’ve walked in a room. I watch when I’m forthcoming and they project. I see their discomfort, when I’m forced into facing instead of denial. All the things I’ve been accused of, completely different from my past experiences and perspective. Taking it from their perspective? With my reality and what I felt, saw and heard. I still cannot excuse it at all, any of it. My reaction was wrong. My anger and how I expressed it, was wrong. I did not deserve what was done.

This week

Today I put my dog down. Heartbreaking I grew up with him 16 years! I don’t know how to live without him. He would sleep in my room every night. I would make breakfast and dinner with him. He was the one excited about me going home. In few days is also my anniversary of my tbi. So this week is very stressful and emotional. I picked up shifts for work to keep my mind occupied is there anything else I can do? #grieve #PTSD #Anxiety #idk

I’m new here!

Hi, my name is alwayschangingone. I’ve done a Lot to repair physical injury and stregthen myself against future injury. I’ve been kinda distracted by the almost dying of much of my life (first Severe CFS/POTS which I cured after a decade) then severe TBI/Cervical instability and dislocation creating 24/7 10+ migraibe pain and a host of other non-living conducive systems, rewired and repaired Those injuries: rebuilt and built my brain repairs. so it is only now in my more ‘put together’ no longet in crisis or caretaking others that I have had time to staet worjing on the fact that I have ADHD and EDS, I also have been doing ongoing and lifetime work with CPTSD and PTSD.
lots to share but also to learn of additional paths that might onto mine.
