New medication question about Vraylor.

At my doctor’s visit last week, he gave me a sample pack of Vraylar. I’ve never seen a psychiatrist or been diagnosed, but I do believe I have one of the Bipolar types. I mostly suffer from major depressive disorder, anxiety, social anxiety. I have had very few manic episodes and they are hypo mania episodes when I do have them. My question is for anyone who is taking this or has ever taken it, did you take it in the mornings or evening/bedtime? Which is more helpful. I thought it was making me drowsy when I first started it, which was 5/3/22. But I’m not sure. Any advice and/or suggestions would be helpful. #Bipolor #Vraylar

Vraylar?

Hello everyone, I’m on my like 10th day of Vraylar, did anyone else have any racing heart issues? I even went to med express because it felt like my heart was fluttering and I couldn’t focus. Also is anyone else tired but also restless on it? If I take it during the day I feel funky(the feeling is fading as my body adjusts) but when I take it at night I wake up a bunch. But it’s definitely helping my mental health. I was just curious if anyone else had issues adjusting at first? Thank you! #BipolarDisorder #Vraylar #SideEffects #Medicationchange

How does one navigate? #Moodstablizer #Latuda #Vraylar

How does one navigate the expense of mood-stabilizing medications? Visited my doctor today. He prescribed a medication that's $800 (after my insurance picks up their part). He then gives me samples of another medication just in case the one he prescribed was too expensive!. I called my insurance company and the sample med is $700 (after their pick up their cost). Ughhh. I supposed I'm going to have to check prices each time my doctor attempts to prescribe. Very frustrating experience today. I walked away from my doctor's appointment with a prescription for a medication I can't afford and a 6-week sample of another med that I won't be able to afford. Lost.

Does anyone get intense headaches on #Vraylar?

I’m on my 4th week of switching to #Vraylar after #Abilfy stopped working . I’m having really, really bad headaches and my body easily overheats. Does it get better? Worse? My doctor thinks my side effects are strange. My support groups are not meeting due to Covid-19. I’m at a bit of a loss. Any help would be appreciated 😊#Bipolar1Disorder #Sideeffect

alcohol and vraylar

#Vraylar
what’s your experience (if any) with drinking alcohol and being on vraylar? I’m taking vraylar in addition to lexapro to help my anxiety disorder. I’m just an occasional drinker, a glass of wine or a beer here and there but I’m scared to drink now that I’m taking vraylar. I want to be able to have the occasional drink on date night with my husband or you know, at a special event. Thanks for any input.

Changing Meds Again

I am running out of options. I am scraping the bottom of the barrel of medications to treat my bipolar II. The last one for me to try and that my doctor just put me on is Lithium. I am scared what will happen if this one doesn’t work. My depression can be so severe at times that I become suicidal. I really just don’t know what to do. I am scared to put all my faith in this one only to have it not work either. I was on Vraylar and it worked great for so long and then I developed akathesia just like I did on saphris and those were my two best medications. I just don’t understand why they turned on me the way they did. The akathesia was so bad that I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
My doctor decided to take me off my ADHD meds during the holiday to see if that was what the problem was and not actually Akathesia, but that just made the actual problem pop even more. Now I am getting ready to go on another vacation to visit family while trying out a new medication. It just seems like the worlds worst timing for all of this to be going on right now. I wanted to be able to show my sister the new me that is stable and clear headed and instead she gets to see me when I am in a questionable state of mind. I really didn’t want her to see me likethat. I really just want to find a medication that works and keeps me clear headed and stable with out being numb and unreactive to things. I just want to be the best person I can be. Here is to hoping that this is a better year and that the medication works and that I can be stronger this year and be a better person. I want to be able to get out there and live life and smile and laugh instead of just “being”. #ADHD #Bipolar #Vraylar #litium #medicationchanges

Vraylar update #Vraylar

Just saw my psychiatrist for my first check up since changing to Vraylar. She took me down to every other day 1.5mg due to not sleeping very well. She says I tend to be very sensitive to meds so she thought that i might be a good one to try this with since she has done it with other patients.
We all know how important good sleep is to keeping a good balance with bipolar and depression in general so I was really starting to struggle as the dosage started to build up more. I had been on it for 4 weeks and it has a very long half life when compared to other meds so that is why she figured this would be a good idea. I will keep you posted on the sleep situation as it evolves. Saphris definitively was the best med for insuring a great nights sleep, but the akathesia was just terrible. I have tried melatonin and Benadryl and nothing seemed to keep me out all night. I was waking up ever few hours and having lots of strange dreams. #Depression #Bipolar2
