🦖 🐶 Halloween ready anyone?

My little buddy comes with me everywhere and often makes people and kids laugh. Today someone day thank you for making my day. 💕 I like taking him places or in stores on his bagpack because I get to see a smile on everyone’s place and it just feels great to get so much happiness and spread it. #Halloween #Sharethelove #pettherapy #bordeline Personality Disorder #CPTSD #DBT

Share The Dignity

Giving back to the community this month in time for Christmas,
My mama and I donated a couple of preloved/new handbags/backpack full of toiletries and extra items
for a great cause below

'At Share the Dignity, we aim to give those experiencing period poverty the dignity they deserve.

Your donations help those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence and those doing it tough. We do not discriminate on who receives these products, no matter your history, background, how you identify, we believe everyone deserves a right to take control of their period with dignity. '

'IT'S IN THE BAG
Each November Share the Dignity donated thousands of bags to those in need across the country filled with essentials and special gifts to make Christmas one to remember.

Inside the bag, we require period products, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, roll-on deodorant. In addition to this, you can add any products or gifts you think someone doing it tough may appreciate. The bag itself needs to be in good condition but can be a pre-loved handbag or backpack.

The 2020 It’s In The Bag campaign will run from the 20th of November until the 29th of November. Drop off points will be available at Bunnings stores nationwide with COVID-19 restrictions depending in some states. We are currently doing everything we can and working on contingency plans to ensure It's In The Bag can run successfully and we can continue to help those living in crisis.'

Yesterday marked the first day of the Share the Dignity campaign this month

I just dropped off 4 preloved/new handbags/backpack of toiletries and extra items for young women.

Share the Dignity #WomensHealth

I'm getting behind this wonderful initiative
Share the Dignity this month
It's about lending a hand to women in Australia.
Gifting a care pack with essential toiletries and/or beauty/accessories in a new or preloved handbag to a woman or teen in need.

Meditation: The Importance of Top-Ups. #Meditation

I got my Dad into meditation in a period he was feeling low. H"e started doing it every morning and he found it helped immensely- however, by mid-afternoon, he would be crashing again.

And he couldn't understand why...

"The brain is a muscle-" I told him. "A super muscle at that, but still a muscle. It's working hard, all day every day. It needs attention, and rest, just like your body does. Meditation is a way to provide that rest-

But it's not a tool you use once daily and hope it lasts for the day!

Any-time you start feeling frazzled, or run-down, or low- whack on a meditation. This is a way your brain is telling you- "oi, I need some attention" so listen to it. The more you ignore and push on, the worse it's going to get." I remember he set down his sandwich at this point with the look of Eureka written across his face.

"Even if you're just sat there-" I continued "wishing for it to be over, don't be hard on yourself, stick with it as much as you can- that's still self-love you've gifted yourself. And the more you do it, the easier it gets..." The realization sunk in and he ran off to the lounge to meditate.

Since I incorporated this into my own life, it has made things much easier. Meditating can be frustrating, especially when you already wake up depressed/anxious, and it's hard to not be hateful of yourself when you catch your mind wandering for the 15th time in the first five minutes of doing it...

But the more you persevere with it, without being judgemental or hard on yourself for the difficulties you face in practices, the easier it will become to practice and the more enjoyable! It's like training your body when you first start working out- you don't expect to do 1 workout and come away from it with the body of your dreams, so why do we expect the brain to be any different? I know it's a super muscle, but it needs time to develop, just the same as your body!

I'm interested to know how any of you overcame your meditation struggles in the beginning- any tips for people who struggle to show up for themselves or to get through a practice? Or just any advice in general on having a great meditation session(s)?
