Why the name?

Hi there. As with many women depressives, I have always been drawn to the writings of Sylvia Plath. (I know probably not the healthiest choice, but hey what would we be without our quirks?) Anyway, once of her most iconic quotes hits me just right every time. When I am low, like now in these crazy times, I always feel... “very still and empty, the way the eye of a tornado must feel, moving dully along in the middle of the surrounding hullabaloo.”
-The Bell Jar 🌪

Can’t help but think of this quote so much at the minute. If only I could get myself back up.

I Promise To Stay

I will feast on sadness tonight.
I will weep when there is no one to speak with.
I will reconnect with my darling Sylvia,
and think of what drove her to an oven.
I will be proud of myself for choosing life
... even if I’m not actually proud.

I will face my Maker and proudly
(though feebly)
- no, defiantly - say,
“All of my being swore to die, to give up.
But I am still here.”
And when I collapse
from the agony of this exile,
I know He will give me the hug
He promised when He sent the rain to me.
A promise is a promise. And

I promise to stay.
