Hi, my name is skyzalemmett. I'm here because I would love to learn more about what I've been living with for most of my life and/or have been diagnosed with . I have multiple diagnoses, and sometimes they can be hard to navigate. I'm looking for support, education, knowledge, wisdom, and ways to manage my illnesses while still taking time to do what I love.

As some of my fellow Mighties may have noticed, I have been absent from The Mighty for a past few months. The reason for this, and also the reason that I may be continuing to have some short breaks, is that, after years of surviving in a home that was entirely unsuitable and unsafe for me because of my disability and mobility needs, I was finally able to move into a fully adapted, wheelchair accessible, home.
This time last year I was surviving in a flat/apartment that had become entirely unsuitable and unsafe for me for so many reasons that it would take far too long so I created this list of the top 5 issues. Now I live in a home that is beyond anything I could have ever imagined living in and has, and continues to, improve my self-confidence, my self-worth and my life.

One distinct part of living with a health condition—especially a rare disease (diagnosed or otherwise)—is having to explain, and re-explain, what it’s like to manage it. Fluctuating, changing, unpredictable, and under-researched symptoms can make it difficult for others to fully understand how to support you or empathize with your experience.
What’s something that’s often misunderstood about living with your rare disease?

Man, I've lost so many years because of misdiagnosis. They said it was depression, or that I was an addict – they're linked, sure. But really, those were just side effects of my ADHD as a woman with hormonal changes. If I'd been treated for ADHD as a teen, my life would've been totally different. I wouldn't have had to chase quick dopamine fixes for instant gratification, because there would've been medication for female ADHD, like a stimulant and an antidepressant. I don't actually suffer from anxiety; it's more like an internal rummaging, almost like butterflies in your stomach that makes me feel anxious.
So many years, I've been misunderstood, not normal with autistic quirks, a little eccentric. I've been told if I just worked harder, I'd do better. I hated school because it was boring, and my hormones in my teenage years made me act out severely with my undiagnosed ADHD.
There are so many women with late ADHD diagnoses... all saying life could have been so different if we'd known about female ADHD and hormonal changes. # #ADHD #Perimenopause #LateDiagnosis #femaleadhd #Hormones

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I am back after an extremely busy, exciting and life changing year (more on that later) and that I will be back to raising awareness of various physical health issues, mental health issues and disability. I am so thankful that I am able to return to this amazing community of people who are always there for support and encouragement.
