It doesn't matter what you wore
Or how much you had to drink,
It doesn't matter who they were
A stranger or of family.

It doesn't matter how much money
That you do happen to make,
It doesn't matter if they were a friend
A lover or heartbreak.

It doesn't matter if you willingly
Did walk into their house,
It doesn't matter if they were a date,
Co-worker or a spouse.

It doesn't matter just how often
Be it once or many years,
It doesn't matter what their "excuse" was
That drowned your life in tears.

It doesn't matter when it happened
Yesterday or in your youth,
It doesn't matter who believes
For in your heart you know the truth.

Cause if you didn't give consent
Then it's considered an assault,
It doesn't matter what they said or did
IT NEVER WAS YOUR FAULT!

Nobody wants to listen
Or care to understand why

I know myself
What you're going through
My mind body and soul
Feeling the same
The pain so real
Feeling we're going insane
Our self esteem so low

Not knowing ourselves
How much longer
Can our bodies endure
Being so scared
Feeling all alone
Not knowing what to do

If people only realized
How comforting
and powerful
Words can mean
Not as in a vowel
But in a verb
Hearing someone say

I BELIEVE YOU .

Those three little words
Would make such a difference
In our world
Not feeling so isolated
Everyone thinking
We can do so much more
If they only knew we too
Wish we could

I BELIEVE YOU

How powerful
Those three little words
How desperately
We just want to be heard
Instead we're being neglected
By the medical field
Saying it's all in our head
Making us feel
Our fate is shut and sealed

Let me tell you
They're in for a surprise
They can't shut us up
How they underestimated
The strength we must have
Just to survive

Our bodies so weak
But our souls
So strong
We are WARRIORS
Working together
Having no choice
Being our own
Investigators and doctors

We are a family
All over the world
How much love we have
Our hearts intertwined
A special bond
We all share together

This disease M.E.
Nobody is safe
It can happen to you
Only then you'll regret
Not realizing how important
Three simple words
Can make all the difference
In this big scary world

Now you too
Will be saying
How meaningful
It is to hear
These three simple words

1 JOHN 5:1-5

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the son of God.

So, very close to the 1 year anniversary of my #Trauma and #SexualAssault I jumped a huge hurdle. My trauma specialist suggested I go back to where my assault happened as it was on the side of a road in my county. I had a burn ceremony where I wrote down feelings I had and burned them to keep them in the past, where my bad thoughts will soon be as well. I'm very #proud of myself. It was hard, but I did it... <3
