Conscious Peace and Happiness

It can be very difficult to enduring throughout these "critical times" that cause so much stress, anxiety, depression and mental anguish. If we seek to be faithful to not only ourselves, but for those of us that believe in the Creator, Him first and foremost as well as those whom we love, much effort is required on our part. It can be hard to choose between whether or not we spend that extra change we've made on someone else to help them, or on ourselves to help sedate whatever pains we may be going through. Oftentimes, we don't even have that extra in order to do so. This is why I want to speak on where true happiness comes from and the peace that it comes with it. Whether or not our thoughts and actions reflect love for not only ourselves, but the Oneness of Humanity that we exist amidst can be seen by means of our deeds. It is love for God and fellow human being that will cause us to make sacrifices that involve letting go of things that may be preventing us from being of service to someone else in life. In order for us to be leaders, we must first be servants. Everyone alive has been provided with an inner moral compass and it is up to us how well we train it according to the value system held by the spirit from which we all have been created. Many laws and principles exist, such as the idiom, "Treat others as you would like to be treated", that if we live by, does much to improve our quality of life and that of those who're positively affected by such an integral state of mind.

We must remember that true inner peace and happiness comes from within, and unfortunately, these two qualities are foreign treasures to entirely too many people in these stressful times that we live. These above two mentioned treasures are commonly misplaced with the mistaken guise of material items and pursuits. Tangible things do not bring true peace nor happiness, because if you take them away, then where does your peace and happiness go? Right along with the object, place, person, idea or whatever. True peace and happiness stems from knowing and appreciating our worth, contributing toward the growth of it as well as the growth of others. And giving plays a very big role in defining our happiness and peace. We are all united because we all come from the same two human beings. So, any contribution made toward another is a gift we've given unto ourselves. True happiness can only be found along the path of righteousness. Appreciation for life is developed within the soul anyone who repeatedly does the right thing for an indefinite period of time, and with that appreciation comes the well-earned benefit of being truly happy. A good conscience is birthed and nurtured through kindness, loving, a joyful heart, mild spirit, the will to control self and ultimately, a natural state of tranquility. #nonprofit #grateful #behavioralhealth #MentalHealthAwareness #emotionalhealing #optimisticcharacterdevelopment #dvizionsinspiredexpressions #faithoverfear #livelovelovelife #growthroughthepain #stoptheviolence #openhomestobrokenhomes

5 Ways You Can Still Volunteer For Your Favorite Cause

◇ VOLUNTEERING ◇
• Do you have a cause that is near and dear to your heart? Something you feel strongly about and want to support? It can be very challenging to feel like you have enough energy (spoons) to give any of your time away to things outside of self care and at home responsibilities.
.
.
• If you are like me, you have things that you want to do to help maintain some normalcy amidst your chronic illness.
.
.
• I volunteer with 2 amazing organizations, @lancasterfarmsanctuary and @pittieslovepeace. I'll go into more detail on both of these organizations another time.
.
.
• So, how can you help your favorite organizations?!
.
.
1) Offer to send thank you notes to supporters who have donated to the charity you want to support
2) Make phone calls (reference phone calls for animal adoptions, coordination phone calls for events)
3) Share the organizations posts on social media, even if you are not even to help in person, sharing their posts and helping them gain exposure and a broader audience could bring in more donations, supporters and volunteers
4) Volunteer your time during an event. If they have a booth set up during an event, offer to take a shift and give information about the organization out to event attendees
5) Ask your organization of choice if there are things you can help with from home such as sending emails, online filing, fundraising, event planning, etc.
.
.
• I know it can feel overwhelming having a Chronic Illness (or multiple), but if you are interested and feel like you have some time and a spare spoon every once in a while, reach out to an organization you support to see how you could possibly help.
.
.
• I hope this post was helpful for you. What organizations do you all volunteer with? #Volunteer #volunteering #Charity #nonprofit #volunteerfromhome #RheumatoidArthritis #Fibromyaliga #Endometriosis #Migraines

See the Momma Behind the Child

For Down Syndrome Awareness Month, be aware of the Down syndrome momma. The momma that loves her child unconditionally but struggles from time to time with a life she didn’t expect or ask for. Nevertheless she is her child’s greatest protector, advocate and champion. She persists when the world tells her it just isn’t possible because she knows anything is possible when it comes to her child. The Down syndrome momma’s heart softens to those around her that are different or in need while her spirit finds a strength and determination she never knew she had. She is exhausted mentally, emotionally and physically in a way she could never describe but still somehow finds the energy to advocate, write letters, read new research, try new therapies and schedule appointments all for her child. Be mindful of the Down syndrome momma that keeps a smile on her face that hides her struggles. She doesn’t want your sorrow, pity or disingenuous comments but she desperately wants your understanding, support and friendship. She finds it hard to balance celebrating the absolute joy her child brings her whilst admitting that life with Down syndrome can be hard. Very hard. The Down syndrome momma doesn’t want to change her child but she will do everything in her power to make sure the world changes for them. This Down Syndrome Awareness Month, take a moment to see the momma behind the child. Original words written by Baskets of Love Down Syndrome Support Society. @basketsofloveds

BIG NEWS! I’ve been named a L’OREAL Paris Woman of Worth!

It’s official! I’m a 2019 L’OREAL Paris Woman of Worth!

And I need your vote!

10 finalists across the country have been chosen for this honor, and we each will receive a $10,000 donation to support our mission!

To decide who the ultimate Woman of Worth is, a national voting poll starts today! Being chosen as the Woman of Worth would award me an additional $25,000 to spread resources, support, and hope to families of babies with Down syndrome across the nation.

Can you help me spread more love to the Down syndrome community?

You can vote daily at womenofworth.com until November 15th.

May this be a reminder that no matter who you are or how you were born, anything is possible! Thank you all for making this honor possible for me. I’m supremely grateful for your support & love. ❤️

Coming in 2020 (we hope)!

We hope to launch our non-profit in early 2020 aimed at helping those with OC and anxiety disorders receive the best quality of care despite their insurance or financial position. We also hope to provide opportunities for clinicians to receive training in ERP in order to increase the resources available. And to provide training and support for family members and spouses!  #nonprofit #ObsessiveCompulsiveDisorder #Anxiety #MentalHealth #resources
