The power of touch #Depression #Anxiety #MentalHealth #PTSD #Relationships #FamilyAndFriends #Touch #Hope
This is my youngest Granddaughter, Abigail. She recently had yet another surgery. As she slept my daughter reached out to touch her and pray for her. Touch is a priceless gift.
Some years ago I was flying home to Sydney from Thailand. I was upgraded to First Class and when the hostess came to offer me a welcome drink she saw I was crying my eyes out. I felt I owed her some explanation so I told her saying goodbye to my best friend, who lives in Thailand, was always heart breaking. She told me she understood and as she walked away she gently touched my shoulder.
Now I am sure that gentle shoulder touch is something they are probably trained to do, but, in that moment it was priceless. The power of a gentle hand, a sincere touch can never be overestimated.
Who has lifted your spirits by a loving, gentle touch?
