Anyone else have chronic hives and fibro? What worked for you to relieve them?
Last night I had the strangest reaction. I was feeling hot in the house and started itching my legs. I thought nothing of it. Hours later I was still itching and feeling like my legs were burning. I do have hives from our dogs but it was never this bad. I felt slight relief after a bath and medicine. But even now I still feel a burn and want to itch. Is this common in hypothyroidism or celiac disease? I was just wearing sweatpants, and in a blanket. I think it’s hives but it is hard to tell on my legs. I do get hot easier but never on my legs like this. I didn’t eat anything out of the ordinary that I haven’t eaten before. My mom thought it was possibly my new bath products but this was hours after my last shower and I used it days before. #HypothyroidismUnderactiveThyroidDisease #Celiac #Hives
The antihistamines helped. When they failed, Pepcid helped. Now Pepcid is failing and I’m going to start Singulair.
Wish I had some answers.

Like for many others, this year has been extremely difficult on my depression. I struggled with an intense depressive episode for several months and finally sought out medical and mental help.
August and September I was feeling a little better (mentally) but still not my regular self. October I decided to try start taking CBD to treat my anxiety and had great results.
Around that same time I also started taking a different antidepressant and things seemed to be falling into place for me which was encouraging. Halfway through October I began experiencing itchy hive flares on random pets of my body so I stopped taking the antidepressant, assuming that was the cause.
It wasn’t.
I have had itchy hives outbreaks almost every day since October. I went to see an allergist two weeks ago who ordered a bunch of blood tests. Today was my follow up and nothing unusual showed in the tests. He suggested I abstain from consuming cannabis (legal here) for at least three days to rule that out as a trigger.
Every evening I take both CBD and regular cannabis to relax and have not only felt better mentally and emotionally, but also really enjoy it. Aside from the hives, I haven’t felt this good in years. The thought of potentially not being able to partake in something that helps me feel better and that I enjoy is really negatively affecting me.
Tonight is the first night I haven’t had any and I am so sad. I can feel myself slipping into that familiar darkness from earlier this year. Part of me is willing to put up with the hives just to be able to make my brain feel better.
This is gonna be a long few days... 😞 #Depression #Cannabis #Hives #MedicalMystery #thissucks
Please pray for me! I’m meeting with another dermatologist tomorrow. Hopefully he can help figure out what’s going on. I need some one I can rely on to take on my case, because these #Hives are the worst. Joint pain is one thing... They are so hot and itchy, I can’t sleep at night. Sometimes the whole site of the hives becomes swollen (mostly on my forearms). I’ve been exhausted, feel like I have something stuck in my throat and some days I can barely walk because my heels hurt so bad.
Have you experienced this?? Please tell me your story!

Anyone with Rheumatoid Arthritis and/or Lupus who has experienced chronic hives? I started getting these super itchy hives three weeks ago and am looking for anything that can help. Not too keen on taking steroids...and not good to take antihistamines for long periods...

Has anyone been on Wellbutrin and developed an allergy in the form of hives?
At slightly more than 2 weeks since starting this med and a bit over a week since increasing the daily dose to 150mg I started to notice I would get super itchy hives on my body where there was a lot of heat and sweat generated. It’s been almost a week now that I’ve had these hives every day.
Cortisone cream seems to help the itching so I’m pretty sure it’s an allergic reaction. I’ve been trying to figure out what has changed in my routine and the dose increase is the only thing that comes to mind. Dr. Google also mentions hives as a possible rare side effect.
Has anyone else had this same experience?

I have random hives and they won’t go away! So frustrating and itchy especially at night. Anyone know anything that works to get rid of them??
So, I have Fibro and two chronic viral conditions (one that causes a rash that often turns into lesions) and although I can be sometimes surprised when my symptoms flare up, I’ve been having an odd reaction recently. I’ve started to get hives at night, practically like clockwork between 7-9pm. They are gone by morning. Nothing in my environment has changed-I’ve been isolated at home for almost three weeks because of covid-19 and before that, I was home frequently because of my conditions anyway. I’ve lived in my same home for three years. The last time I had hives was in my childhood. I’m not bothered by the itching per se (I’m use to it with my one viral condition), but I’m not feeling great about taking Benadryl every night. It makes me so much more groggy than normal and I have a terrible time waking up. Does anyone have other ways they treat recurrent hives that don’t seem to be caused by an allergic reaction and magically disappear and reappear with the setting sun? #Fibromyalgia #Hives
Hi everyone! I break out in hives pretty much every day. I’ve been patch tested and prick tested, allergic to all indoor allergies, and all of the trees. Patch tested only showed a type of dye used. I take Zyrtec twice a day and Benadryl as needed. When the hives are particularly bad, I also get these raised red bumps. They’re kind of like pimples, but not as raised and they’re not ‘pop-able’ or pickable. Google gives me no information and I don’t really want to call my dermatologist or allergist if I don’t have to. my skin is also very dry and itchy and my cuticles are so thin that I bleed under my nailbed. Any ideas?! (Also diagnosed with fibro, an unspecified neuro cognitive disorder, and some other things that I’m still waiting on test results for.) #Fibromyalgia #Hives #Allergies #MastCellActivationDisorder #Skin
