Smile

Has anyone smiled this morning? What made you smile? If something is holding you back, what is it? I'd love to help if I can.

As a way to better share advice with you all, I make video responses to your mental health questions.

The last video I made was in response to @myshel who asked about how to silence the mind. If this sounds relevant for you, you can check out the video here:

Otherwise, if you have any questions about mental health, please post in my group and I will try to make a video response specifically for you.

~ Thanks to all. Thanks for all. ~

Speaking of thanks for all, I was hoping we could acknowledge everyone who comments below. I know it seems like a small gesture, but many people here have never opened up to anyone before and being open and honest with strangers can be quite scary. So, if we could show our gratitude by giving their comment a simple reply or heart, I’m sure they would really appreciate your team support. What do you say?

I found a resource for free mental health books if anyone needs it

Hey everyone, here are some good free books on mental health. I don’t know if they’re also on Android, but you can get them on different things such as Smash Words from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online ebook apps for free

Ughh

Possible SA trigger warning ⚠️

Hi you guys Mark here. I'm 32, gay male originally from New Orleans. I was unofficially pre diagnosed with bpd and major depression before the age of 18. So, the diagnosis didn't stick due to age restrictions. Since then, I've been tossed around diagnosis from bi polar, depression, anxiety, and ptsd. Just recently I was finally diagnosed BPD and ptsd so now it's finally resonating with me. My impulsive behaviors are not as bad as I'm getting older, but still not completely under control. I suffer with poly substance use disorder and severe suicidal ideations from time to time. I was able to maintain 1 full year of sobriety and practiced extensive DBT modules. Honestly, to some extent it releived some of my symptoms but ultimately I became burnt out and exhausted with constantly "working on myself." My relapse wasn't terrible but, drinking came first and became problematic about a year after my relapse. So, that's still improvement from where I come from with my addiction. Currently I'm not drinking but using uppers and downers to help me navigate through my day. Until I started thos concoction my depression was so bad I started to plan, write notes and plan end of life events with my partner in case I were to succeed. Now, the uppers have helped me with motivation and general low mood but I'm also playing in the impulsive spectrum of my BPD. I'm not quite ready nor feel the need to be completely sober at the moment as I know I may not come back from another major depressive episode. Most antidepressants usually either don't work or cause reverse side effects, of course mood stabilizers don't work either. I'm currently in therapy DBT for my BPD. I'm still trying to feel better but I'm also becoming less confident that symptom releif would improve actual quality of life. Does anyone else suffer with this cycle and doubt? Would love a sponsor to help or just someone to talk to who understands the symptoms I've described above.

Thanks

Practice Silence

When you practice silence, what do you hear? If painful thoughts come up, do you try to cover them up with activity or noise? Or do you give yourself permission for them to come up and out so that eventually, you can release them and heal?

Also, as a way to better share advice with you all, I make video responses to your mental health questions.

The last video I made was in response to @aminatheweak51 who asked about how to deal with negative thoughts about themselves. If this information is relevant to you, you can check out the video here:

What was the last milestone you celebrated?

A milestone is technically defined as “an action or event marking a significant change or stage in development.” In society these days, we tend to apply it to human development and big life events like graduation, marriage, starting a new career, or having children. But at The Mighty? Milestones look a lot different.

Today we want to celebrate all the stuff others don’t — your first day of sobriety, seeing the bottom of your kitchen sink in the first time in a while, successful (or newly implemented) sleep hygiene, or finding a doctor who actually listened to your concerns.

Ready to celebrate? 👏 👏 👏 — those are for you!

Thank you

I don't really have anything deep to say today. I just want to thank you all for being such great supporters of each other. It's such a joy for me to watch all your various victories from the sidelines. Thank you for this gift.
