Motivational Monday: At Your Lowest, It Will Only Get Better

“You just have to remembered that wherever you are at your lowest it will always get better.”- Victor Garber

We have had or will have some very difficult times on this journey. It is hard for us to see the positive while we are going through these times, but there is a glimmer of hope that things will get better.

Your glimmer of hope may come from encouragement, seeking help or deciding to stay committed.

Even at your lowest, things will improve. Keep moving forward one step at a time.

Remember that this is not a permanent solution, but one way to help people with diabetes afford lifesaving medications.

It is also important to keep in mind that some companies may have changed eligibility requirements or the program itself since this publication. For updates, visit their websites or contact them directly.

Motivational Monday: You Have the Power to Make a Decision and a Difference

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”- Jane Goodall

A friend of mine made an empowering statement this morning: We humans have been given the power to make decisions.

We have the ability to make decisions. Regardless of what life throws at us, we have the ability to change the outcome. Whatever we decide to do in a situation makes a difference, whether good or bad.

The same applies to our health journeys. The way we approach this condition can make a difference in our outlook on life.

Have you been having difficulty managing diabetes?

Are you newly diagnosed and want to better understand your diagnosis?

Are you finding yourself on the verge of diabetes distress or depression?

Are you just tired of it all?

How can you change the outcome of your situation? What kind of difference do you want to make in this area?

Take some time today to reflect and then come up with a plan to make this happen.

You can turn to this community for support whenever you need it. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the community with a post or DM me💙

Food & Nutrition Friday: Cauliflower Beef Bowl

When I was first diagnosed with diabetes in 2019, cauliflower was gaining popularity in low carb dieting.

Cauliflower was my first choice as an alternative to rice and potatoes until I found other choices.

As of now, I will only eat them roasted with other vegetables or in the occasional cauliflower mac and cheese dish.

Looking for a quick and tasty lunch and dinner idea? Check out the Cauliflower Beef Bowl Recipe from Beyond Type 2:

❓What is your favorite way to eat cauliflower?

Share your favorite ways in the comments. If you’re not into cauliflower, say that too 😀

Talk About It Tuesday: Getting to Know You

As so many new friends have joined this community in recent months, it seemed appropriate that we spend some time getting to know one another.

In the comments, feel free to share the following:
    - Name
    - Diabetes type
    - What you do for a living
    - One unique fact about yourself

    I’ll start!

My name is CJ. I was misdiagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2019, but was correctly diagnosed with Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults in 2022. As a wife and homeschooling mom of three, I lead a busy life. In addition to being a leader of this awesome group, I am a moderator and contributor of the Type 2 Diabetes community (hence my numerous article suggestions), an ambassador for Bezzy Type 2 Diabetes, and a local DiabetesSisters leader. Furthermore, I co-lead a nonprofit for youth entrepreneurs and have an arts & crafts business.

A unique fact about me: I wrote a book in one day! One hour in 2021, I wrote an entire children's book. I then hired an illustrator that same day. It is currently available on Amazon under the title My Diabetic Mama 😀

I can’t wait to know more about you!
