I'm new here!

Hi, my name is Thedesignshed1. I'm here because I have severe arthritis in my hands and fybromyalgia, I’m suffered from complex PTSD and live with generalised anxiety disorder. I am a single parent and carer for 3 children with disabilities, my oldest is 19 with autism, ocd, type 1 diabetes, and challenging behaviour, my 17 year old has epilepsy and my 15 year old has autism and global developmental delay. I’m exhausted all the time and find it hard to get any relaxation time, life has got easier over the years but I’m getting older and more tired. I’d like to put the fun back into life and feel like I’m living instead of just existing.

Motivational Monday- Not About Choice, but How We Cope

“Diabetes is not a choice, but how I live with it is.” - Brett Andreas

Diabetes isn't a choice, but how you cope and manage it is completely in your hands. Having a healthy diet, regular exercise, stress management, medication, if needed, and monitoring blood sugar levels can all improve someone's quality of life. The good news is that living with diabetes doesn't have to be a limitation, but rather an opportunity for you to make positive changes for your well-being.

Motivational Monday: Do What Works For You & Your Health at Your Own Pace

“Do things at your own pace. Life is not a race.” - Anonymous

It's important to remember that managing diabetes is a lifelong journey and it's important to take things at your own pace.

Don't compare yourself to others or feel like you need to keep up with anyone else's progress. Everyone's journey with diabetes is unique and it's important to focus on your own health and well-being. So take your time, make small changes, and find what works best for you.

Motivational Monday: Braver, Stronger, Smarter

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
- A.A. Milne

We are capable of more than we realize. It akes courage to make lifestyle changes and manage blood sugar levels, strength to overcome challenges and setbacks, and intelligence to understand and make informed decisions about treatment options.

You might be going through a challenging time managing this condition, but don't count yourself out! Think about what you're doing right so far and what to improve on. Then, focus on making one change at a time.
