I just had excision surgery for endometriosis a few days ago. They found extensive endo, adhesions, and retroperitoneal fibrosis. I ended up having a hysterectomy to give me the best outcome. I’ve never had a huge desire to have children, so it’s not as big of a loss as it would be for some women, but I’m still feeling so overwhelmed with emotions. I had to fight for so long to get the care I needed and now that I have my diagnosis and know the extent of the disease, it’s taken a huge toll on my mental health. I can’t believe how bad it was and I’m feeling so lost and upset. I hate that this happened to me and every time I see the incision marks I get filled with grief. My family and friends have been so supportive, but they just don’t understand. They keep saying I should be happy because hopefully this will end my suffering , I just don’t see it that way right now. I’d appreciate some words of wisdom and to know if anyone else felt like this after surgery. ❤️ #Endometriosis #Hysterectomy
