Tell us about your most recent milestone.

Happy Friday, Mighty friends! 💌

Today, we’re reflecting on our most recent milestones. So, what is a milestone? A milestone is any meaningful action or significant event that marks a shift, change, or stage in your journey. It can represent progress, a realization, or a major accomplishment.

When we usually think of milestones, we often picture big life events—like having children, getting married, graduating, or starting a new job. But milestones come in many forms, big and small.

Today, we’re celebrating our Mighty milestones! These could include:
✨ Finding the right doctor
✨ Beginning your sobriety journey
✨ Starting therapy
✨ Reaching out for help for the first time
✨ Making a positive change to your daily routine
✨ Finally tackling a personal project that’s been on hold for… way too long

Let’s cheer each other on! 🥳🕺
Share your milestone in the comments below!

Exciting update!

I’m very excited!

I have been working hard on being able to do things independently. I appreciate all the help I get, but cptsd and panic attacks have really taken their toll on my independence and freedom. My boyfriend has been such a significant help and I feel so lucky that he is in my life. He is also very aware of my struggles with my current level of functioning.

Yesterday, my boyfriend was working later than normal and I told him I would make us dinner. This is the first time I have had the capacity to make him dinner since we have been together! I love cooking and used to do it all the time. The last couple of years my symptoms have prevented me from fully getting back in the kitchen. I made pierogis from a local place and maple carrots.

Not only that; today I am going to go kayaking by myself! I found out we have a park nearby the house and they do “drop-ins.” I love being by the water. I love kayaking even if it’s an activity I haven’t been able to do much of. If I enjoy the drop in, there are more scheduled for October. Also- it is actually really affordable: $5 for an hour.

Things are moving and I’m seeing it. I couldn’t do these things even a month ago 💗Thanks to all those who have seen me through all that I have gone through and offered me encouragement along the way. I’m grateful for the community here.

What role does creativity play in your health journey?

Creativity has been my main tool for relief and release ever since I could remember. When my thoughts felt trapped, I found freedom through a pencil, pen, or by typing at 2 a.m. I learned how to make bead bracelets and stickers with affirmations and quotes to move my hands and release the anxious energy that made me feel hopeless or out of control.

I’m grateful for the people I’ve been able to share my creativity with, and for the connections I’ve made through self-expression and vulnerability. To me, love and creativity feel very much the same.

✨ How do you use creativity in your health journey? What role does it play for you?

Secure Attachment

Every time something like my Mom getting cancer or my best friend in the world avoids me happens, I stop taking care of myself. This week at therapy, did some work, and now practicing to put my safety in God, so that his constant, unfailing love stays forever as my motivation and security. No more relying on another person’s mood or behavior to determine my self-worth. Here’s another day to training. Yes, I can!

Try Again

Really let myself go. Didn’t realize how much I was on survival mode until I put on a pair of jeans. My days have become more about stretchy pants since I lost my baby and my Mom and gram got rediagnosed with cancer at the same time. Quit my job to take care of her and now it’s time for me to take care of myself. Start again! Step by step 💪🏼 #CheerMeOn #PTSD

Small victories

Took a walk just around the block with no cane earlier. Felt so good decided to do it again. Only made it down the other corner to a neighbor’s house. Sitting on their deck. Feels so good to get outside and be around someone other than my dad. Plus they have the sweetest huskies who love me. #MightyMoment #CheerMeOn
