Nothing Will Go As Planned. And That’s a Good Thing.

A lot of anxiety comes from trying to predict how life is supposed to unfold. We create expectations about the future, and when reality doesn’t match them, we feel disappointed, stressed, or out of control. But the truth is that life rarely follows a fixed plan. Many of the most meaningful experiences come from things we didn’t expect or even tried to avoid. When you loosen your grip on expectations and focus more on taking action in the present, you create space for growth, learning, and opportunities you couldn’t have planned for.

What is something in your life that didn’t go as planned but turned out better than you expected?

What languages do you speak?

Hi Mighties! 😊

Mighty staffer @carla1234 and I have been talking a lot about language accessibility and how important it is—especially in spaces where people from many different cultures come together. Because our Mighty community spans the globe, we’re curious to learn which languages everyone feels comfortable speaking.

So, what languages do you speak? Do you speak more than one? If so, how fluent are you in each?

Feel free to share with us in the comments below! 🩷

Worrying doesn’t fix tomorrow.

Worry often feels productive, but it rarely leads to solutions. Instead, it keeps your mind focused on problems that haven’t happened yet while taking your attention away from what you can actually influence right now. When you shift your focus back to the present moment and ask what is within your control, you reduce anxiety and create a sense of calm. The goal is not to eliminate thinking about the future, but to stop letting it take away your peace in the present.

What is something you’ve been worrying about that you can’t actually control right now?

Also, if you're going through a tough time right now, I want you to know that I post daily mental health videos about how to deal with painful thoughts. So if you or anyone you know is struggling and wants help, click on one of the links below or write me if you have any questions you want me to answer:

I adopted a pet

I know some of you know i lost my Black Lab but i have some exciting news i adopted a rescue dog a Dutch Shepherd. He was abused with shock therapy and an owner who dropped him off at a high kill rate shelter in Orange county when the animal barked too much he would turn up the shock voltage. The dog was luckily taken to a foster house and then put up for adoption. I know the pain of life but when someone abuses an animal in this manner my heart breaks so i saved a life and enriched ten fold.#ChronicPain #MuscularDystrophy #RareDisease ###Fibromyalgia #Depression #Disability #Anxiety

How to Stop Being Afraid of Making Mistakes

Fear of making mistakes is one of the biggest reasons people stay stuck. When you avoid mistakes, you also avoid growth, experience, and confidence. The truth is, everyone around you is just as unsure and afraid of being judged as you are. Progress doesn’t come from being perfect. It comes from taking action, learning, and adjusting along the way.

What is something you’ve been avoiding because you’re afraid of messing it up?

What’s something you miss?

When you think about the passage of time and how life experiences shape your perception of the present moment, feelings like nostalgia, FOMO (“fear of missing out”), longing, or even sadness may come up. Understanding how these emotions shape who we are can help us offer ourselves grace and compassion, while also recognizing that it’s OK to make room for grief when needed and also leave space for gratitude for how far we’ve come.

💌 Sending tons of love to our Mighty family today! 💌

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks has found herself missing the times when she wasn’t as aware of her own trauma responses. She’s grappling with self-compassion right now. She knows how important self-awareness is, but it can feel heavy some days. She’s learning to be kinder to herself and proud of how much she’s grown.

Rank the love languages from 1 (most important to you) to 5 (least important to you).

This week’s theme is all about love languages, Mighties!

We all like to show love and be shown love in different ways. These languages can help us to feel valued, appreciated, and seen in the relationships we build with others (and even ourselves).

Here is a list of what those 5 love languages look like:

🗣️ Words of affirmation: valuing verbal expressions of love, connection, validation, and encouragement

🤝 Acts of service: valuing the idea that "actions speak louder than words," feeling loved when others give a helping hand with thoughtful and selfless gestures.

🫂 Physical touch: Appreciating and valuing consensual physical contact with others

❤️ Quality time: Feeling valued and loved when others set aside time to spend together

🎁 Receiving gifts: Feeling loved with the act of giving and receiving tangible or intangible thoughtful gifts

Which ones are most important for you? Rank them from 1 to 5 in the comments below!
