If this year had an “end message” or a “closing song,” what would it be? 🎶

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks was scrolling through her socials and came across the end-of-year “exit song” trend, which got her thinking about what message or song she would choose. Her message would be for her younger self, and it would say:

“Feel and release all the anger, guilt, and grief you’ve been holding for so long. You deserve some rest. I’ve got us.”

What would yours be, and why? What song—or songs—would make up your year-end soundtrack? What message are you using to close this chapter?

How do you communicate your needs to others?

We each have individual needs that help us to create and nurture the life we want. And within that blueprint, it’s necessary to not only identify those needs and fulfill them, but to also share them with those around us.

Communicating our needs can look like having open, honest, and direct conversations with family, loved ones, friends, and even our co-workers about how we feel, using "I" statements when we open up and express our concerns, or even taking intentional time out to check in with yourself and others.

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks says she chooses to communicate her needs by using "I" statements and stating directly why that need is important for her and her mental health.

What about you? How do you communicate your needs?

The real skills behind mental health success that no one teaches you

Most people think success comes from intelligence, motivation, or luck, but one of the strongest predictors is resilience. Resilience is what allows you to keep going when things don’t work, when emotions run high, and when resistance shows up. You build it by learning from failure instead of attacking yourself, by slowing down your reactions so emotions don’t make decisions for you, and by intentionally doing small uncomfortable things so challenges stop feeling overwhelming. Over time, this trains your mind to face obstacles instead of avoiding them. When you also remember that most problems will not matter in five years, it becomes easier to let go of fear and move forward anyway. Which part of resilience do you feel you need to work on the most right now?

What’s something that’s been confusing for you to understand or navigate lately?

Between the few days after the holidays and right before the New Year, this time can feel especially confusing in general. Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks has been working through some overwhelming emotions she’s never allowed herself to fully feel before. Along the way, she’s found herself not only confused, but also unpacking the roots of that confusion and how deeply it connects to her childhood trauma. It’s been a lot to manage, but she knows she has the tools to work through it as best she can.

What about you? Have you been trying to better understand something lately, or feeling confused about how to navigate or process a certain topic or area of your life?

TRUE or FALSE: I find it easy to honor my needs.

Happy Monday, Mighty family!

This week we’ll be reflecting on honoring our needs.

What does it mean to "honor your needs?" Glad you asked! From our emotional to mental to physical health, we all have different ways we navigate the world around us. And since we’re people with varying experiences, the things we need in each of those buckets may look different.

There’s no shame at all in having needs, prioritizing them, and communicating those needs to the people or environments around us.

Do you feel it’s easy for you or is it something you’re working toward improving?

➡️ P.S. It’s OK to reflect, act, and prioritize our needs for our well-being. In fact, it’s often necessary.

You are not supposed to be happy all the time.

So many people believe that feeling pain means they are broken or behind in life, but pain is part of the human experience, not a personal failure. Avoiding it only keeps it stuck, while allowing it to be felt helps it move through you. When you stop fighting pain and learn to sit with it, it can become a source of clarity, resilience, and motivation. What helps you stay present with difficult emotions instead of running from them?

Also, if you're going through a tough time right now, I want you to know that I post daily mental health videos about how to deal with painful thoughts. A simple daily routine for better mental health

Most people take care of their physical health automatically, but mental health is often left to chance. That is why having a simple daily routine can make such a difference. Taking a few quiet moments in the morning to reflect on what you want from the day helps create intention instead of reaction. Checking in once or twice during the day keeps you connected to yourself instead of running on autopilot. Ending the day by reflecting honestly and writing down a few things you are proud of builds self respect and strengthens the relationship you have with yourself. This is not about being perfect or productive, it is about learning how to support your own mind consistently. What part of this routine feels like it would help you the most right now?
