The Sound of Silence ..... #MightyPoets

A new world is what we now live in
Fear keeps true connection at bay,
We give of our love by a heart, like or follow
Yet silence grows more day by day.

We cultivate internet friendships
Using that which we want them to see,
But keep hidden behind every tear in our eyes
All the pain such a silence does bring.

How can we communicate feelings
When masks are the norm on display?
Concealing a smile that's turned upside down
We slowly begin to decay.

Then sit in a chokehold of stillness
Click on a small screen to deflect,
Pushing aside the cancer which lies
Deep in our hearts, stomach and chest.

To love is a verb, it's an action
This includes how we too love ourselves,
And when looking inside makes you break down and cry
That's a signal to reach out for help.

To reveal hurt continually bottled
Sounds of silence can begin to fade,
It's within a deep human connection
Where we put our true selves on display.

Cause healing is reached by each feeling
That we're willing to share and explore,
If we just would fillet ourselves open
Walls built could then turn into doors.

Learning about disability, why bash them?

I've never been able to understand those that bash others who are confused and trying to learn about others disabilities, not only are you being rude, your not helping with the stigma. People who bash those trying to learn can put a setback in people's learning. You can't expect them to "just get it" and then turn around mad when they get it wrong. Its contradictive, uncalled for and is unfair to the others who have the condition. How? people can start stigmatized "they can be mean" and when you get irritated its a confirmation "they ARE mean" and it furthers the stigma. Learning is a process of trial and error before understanding, no one can fully understand before explanation or on the first try usually. Think carefully before you reply, have a level head, remember they don't know, and show you are no threat. While there are those who can be like that, most people are kind and recognize you ARE TRYING and you CARE which can make us feel like we have a voice being heard. Keep asking, keep looking, keep trying, don't give up. We hear you!

Helping others when I'm struggling myself

I'm a mental health nurse giving support to my patients via telephone now rather than face to face due to Covid 19 distancing measures.

I'm also overwhelmed by lack of sleep and migraine attacks . It's a real struggle to support others when I'm feeling so completely depleted .

A lot of the issues my patients discuss are just as real for me . I'm a human being .This crisis is hard for me too particularly with my own underlying mental health issues. Please remember we (health care providers) don't have all the answers . No one knows when this will be over.
To my patients I want to say Im sorry if at times my answers to your questions dont feel reassuring enough.

I'm really looking forward to my annual leave even though it will probably be in lockdown. We all need rest and recuperation . Please take care of yourselves and be patient with the situation.

All my love

ALL my love to everyone (you know who you are), who has battled the battle of fighting everyday, not knowing how to keep going, not even wanting to keep going a lot of the time, to everyone who has lost someone they truly love and hasn’t yet recovered from that, to anyone who is battling right now and struggling to fight the urges of giving up, to anyone who is scared they’ll never be happy again, and to anyone who is hanging on to hope!

We are all in this together! We are ALL in this together!

A lot of us can say we have been there and it’s because we have. You aren’t alone! You are not alone.

We can all fight this fight and we can hold on, together!

Never feel you cannot find somebody to reach out to in times of weakness, in times of loneliness, in times of sadness!

You are all worth everything, you all have meaning, you all have purpose! And so do.. I may not feel it somedays, maybe not tomorrow but I feel it today and that’s better than yesterday!

Thanks for sharing your stories! 💕

Anxiety and depression #MightyTogether #weareallinthistogether #TogetherWeAreStrongerCampaign

I hate when people say oh get over it, you’ll be okay you don’t need antidepressants you’ll only get addicted to it! While no one is offering to help or give you comfort but except you to suck it up.. I hate it!

Maybe I can help just a little bit #justalittlebit

Recently I found this product that has really been helping me. I'm not saying it's this crazy thing that will cure you and you will be foverer happy. All I'm saying is it helped me, quite a bit. It's this cool flip sequin notebook. You run your hand across it and as you do, the sequins turn and change colors. The feel on the fingertips is so good. And I love the sound too. My notebook has these eyes printed on it so as you move your hand on it, it opens and closes the eyes, it's so much fun... and it's only like $15... If you want you can check it out here: tinyurl.com/eye-opening-sequin-notebook
Good luck everyone!
