Hi, my name is Summer49. I want to write for The Mighty about mental health awareness and suicide prevention, and migraines. I suffer from severe depression, severe anxiety, Complex-PTSD, ADHD, and traits of Adjustment Personality Disorder and Avoidant Personality Disorder. I also suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder and worked in the mental health field for almost 15 years before burning out. Now, I write about my experiences on Substack (“Mental Mosaic”) and want to reach more people to educate about mental illness. It’s 2026, and there are still too many people who are ignorant of the topic, something I find unacceptable.

I experienced a traumatic event involving a stalker 9 months ago which included 8 more months of being monitored by the stalker at least every other day with evidence left behind just to make sure I stayed scared. I was stalked by someone I had briefly dated and worked with. During this time,I have been diagnosed with PTSD. Now that my life is starting to get back to a functioning level including sleeping, leaving the house, interacting with other humans, and starting a new job, I am basically getting a crash course on how to manage my symptoms as they pop up which is usually at the most inconvenient time. This is totally new for me and really scary. With my new job I will be getting medical insurance within the next month so I can actually get the therapy that I need But until then I'm just winging it.
No specific questions just sharing and hoping to get some kind words of encouragement or advice from the community. I feel so alone in the world. I figured this might be a good place to interact with other people that can empathize or have gone through something similar. Thank you

. I am a clinical psychology student and a mental health writer based in Saudi Arabia.I write about what it feels like to study the human mind while living inside one that doesn’t always cooperate. I have generalized anxiety disorder, depression, and avoidant personality disorder — and I also spend my days learning about them in lecture halls.There is something uniquely disorienting about reading the clinical definition of your own suffering as a bullet point in a textbook. That intersection — between the student and the patient, the knowledge and the lived experience — is where my writing lives.I write because for a long time I suffered quietly. Because nobody around me had words for what I was going through. Because I want anyone who reads my work to feel less alone in their own silent battles.I believe the most honest thing a psychology student can do is admit that knowing the answer doesn’t mean you can always reach it — and write about that honestly.

Hello everyone

It’s with a shattered heart that I share this: my beloved husband has passed away. He was the gentlest soul I’ve ever known, and watching him fade day by day was a pain no words can fully capture. We did all we could to keep him comfortable at home, surrounded by love, prayers, and quiet moments that now feel like treasures. Now, in the stillness he’s left behind, I’m left with the medical equipment that helped him through his final days—items that gave him dignity, peace, and comfort when everything else felt uncertain.

I would be deeply grateful to pass these on to anyone who might need them. They were well cared for and still have so much to give. Available items include: a foldable power wheelchair, hospital bed, portable oxygen concentrator, bedside commode, blood pressure monitor, CPAP machine, walker with seat, suction machine, nebulizer, feeding pump, recliner lift chair, overbed table, pulse oximeter, and an adult shower chair. If any of these can ease someone else’s burden, please don’t hesitate to reach out. It would mean the world to me to know they’re bringing comfort once more.
