Lupus life struggles, I need some advice please!

I was finally diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis last year after many hurdles and struggles so I am FINALLY on the medications I need to help my kidneys improve, including prednisone but now I'm dealing with some side effects from prednisone that I find difficult to manage. if anyone has any suggestions at all for the problems below, I'd really appreciate any help at all!!!

I love to do my make up and hair but my skin has become very greasy and sensitive so I struggle to use foundation of any kind and it never lasts!

My hair is very hard to manage due to being extremely greasy no matter how much I wash it or the products I use. I'm also missing all the hair on the top of my head.

I usually like to dress nice when I have the energy, but I have severe weight fluctuations and swelling, I don't always have the resources to go buy new clothes with every change. #Lupus #LupusNephritis #ChronicIllness #lupuslife #prednisonesideeffects #medicationsideeffects #chronicillnesslife #weightgain #physicalchange #adviseplease #adviseme #Advice

Has anyone taken any alternate medications from opioids that have been successful at treating Fibromyalgia pain?

I have been reading about other meds which seems to be amazing for a lot of people with fibro if they stick out the initial side effects. There are a few.
1. What are you taking?
2. For what symptoms?
3. What is the success rate for you (%)?
4. What side effects have you experienced ?
5. What medications are you interested in hearing about from other people?

lactose intolerance and ssri

I finally found a benefit of being lactose intolerant. After starting my ssri, I've been very "backed up" for days. Today I remembered that if I have any dairy, I'll be very much the opposite. So one glass of cow milk later, I'm waiting for my sweet relief. 💩 #SSRI #medicationsideeffects #Depression #GeneralizedAnxietyDisorder

Parkinsonian/Extrapyramidal side effects #SchizoaffectiveDisorder

Hi all!

I've had a mysterious condition for a long time, where I lose the ability to voluntarily move and talk for anywhere from 10 mins to an hour. I'm completely frozen, except I can have an involuntary smile response if somebody says something funny. I am completely aware of my surroundings, and want to interact with people, but I can't. It has a gradual onset and ending. My service dog alerts to it. None of my doctors could figure it out, so they just said it was probably catatonia. I was tested for seizures, but they didn't find anything.

So anyway, I had brunch with a friend who's a doctor and another friend who has a master's degree in research psychology with an interest in psychopharmacology. I was telling them both about this mysterious condition, and they both agreed that it sounded like a basal ganglia problem. They said it was likely an extrapyramidal or parkinsonian side effect from my high doses of antipsychotics. They said it would probably be helped by taking a second dose of cogentin in the mornings, instead of just taking it before bed.

Well, I went to my Psychiatrist this week, and told him about this, and he added on the second dose of Cogentin! So, maybe I won't have these episodes anymore! I can't believe none of my clinicians over the years even considered that! I'm so hopeful that it'll help! And it's such an easy fix, if it works. I'm thrilled!

Yay!?

Saw my Psychistrist who prescribes my Psych meds. They have gotten some of my dissociation lessened and had some results with my anxiety and RMDD. My mood swings from happy to numb to sad still continue and sudden drops are still ongoing and "concerning" though. (scary AF to me)
So it's Mixed Bipolar Disorder symptoms, and they asked me if I wanted to start on yet another med to help equalize me. Lamotrigen. I just picked it up and it's sitting on the table in front of me. I'm on so many fucking meds at this point, and the list keeps growing, and sometimes they can ramp up my ADHD.
Sooooo..... I'm scared of taking another med and what it will fo to my brain with the cocktail it's already on and that I worry as well. I'm scared of myself and scared of the sudden depression and drops into self loathing and the ideations that either ssaunter on in like the own the place or ambush me.
It would be nice to take a bath again without being scared of it turning into Ideation and becoming an emotional and mental struggle.
Walk through the kitchen without eyeballing the knives, cook without fear of "accidentally" cutting or burning myself.
Cross a bridge without stopping to look over the edge, and not because I'm enjoying the view or thinking of bungie jumping, base jumping, or cliff diving. Without wondering how deep, cold, and dark the water is.
Or hell IDK maybe cuddle with someone, be intimate, pet the cat, enjoy a joyful moment without worrying about fatalism cock blocking.
But I also don't want to be numb, be a zombie, lose parts or all of myself, become someone else, short circuit my brain, or otherwise make things worse. #biploar #BipolarDepression #BipolarDisorder #MixedBipolar #Depression #SocialAnxiety #SuicidalIdeation #ChronicPain #ADHD #medicationsideeffects #Lamotrigine #medications #Medicationstruggle

Medication causing suicidal ideation to be worse #

I take epilepsy meds for intractable frontal lobe seizures. the latest med is causing my suicidal ideations to be much worse. But the meds seem to be helping some with the seizures. I have multiple seizures each day. So I seem to be stuck between trying ANOTHER new med or putting up with these thoughts all the time. and I CA. only fight them for so long. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It’s a food baby thanks to abilify

The past few weeks at work I’ve been asked if I was expecting a baby. I had my first 1 year ago. But I’ll admit I put on a few lbs in the midsection due to recent new medications and I can’t help that no matter what diet or exercise I do. It took everything in me not to respond, instead I laughed and said yes a food baby. But inside it really hurt. I know I shouldn’t take this personal but people should never ask a woman if she’s expecting because in all reality they’re calling them overweight. It really pissed me off bc we can’t help these side effects and and being compliant with medications keep us stable. #BipolarDisorder #medicationsideeffects

Effexor side effects: Can contribute to inattention, decreased alertness and ineffective cognitive functions?

Medication question: I was told by a neuropsychologist that Effexor (venlafaxine) can contribute to inattention, decreased alertness, and ineffective cognitive functions... I had never heard that before... Anyone else heard of these side effects?? #Effexor #Antidepressants #PsychiatricMedication #Medicationhelp #medicationsideeffects
