Paper crafting is one of my favorite ways to capture my thoughts about my need for emotional healing, and I love the wide range of papers that allow me to express every mood!
This is one of My Story Acorns, which is a simple acorn template I used to help me define the many aspects of my identity.
I am an avid Bible girl, so creating paper acorns speaks to one of my favorite verses in the Bible.
"Trees of righteousness" gave me a new understanding of brain science, and art as therapy allows me to give voice to the early childhood development that laid dormant for most of my life.
Egghead was a shaming nickname in childhood, but my journey through ACEs recovery has shifted my perspective about that name, and I am now able to celebrate the fact that I am an artsy, crafty, intellectual engineer who loves to speak paintbrush, crayon, and many other art medium that captures my imagination!
I love this project, and envision an orchard of paper acorns adorning the massive studio of my dreams... I haven't been able to build that yet; but I will!!
Today is World Cardmaking Day & I wanted to share my card I made today. Really enjoyed it & found it relaxing.
What hobbies do you enjoy doing?
I like several crafts - Cardmaking, painting & quilting.
I definitely colored for too long doing this page, but it came out so good I can’t even be mad that my neck and head hurt a little more than usual. What do y’all think?
Choosing joy may be harder than it looks sometimes, but for me today, it definitely feels worth it. I have a neurologist appointment tomorrow, so I have some anxiety about that, but I’m not allowing myself to wallow in it. Distractions, like coloring, can be a really helpful tool! 💕

I colored and was remotely creative for the first time since my diagnosis in March! I’m so happy I’m able to color in this motivational quotes coloring book without making my symptoms worse! Does a coloring book count as a craft in this group? I sure hope so (I’d like to share more pages as I color them)!

What’s a work in progress you’re leaving in 2020? Maybe it’s a complicated blanket you put aside a few months ago and just dread picking back up. Or maybe it’s a story you’ve been trying to write but can’t seem to get started.
For me, it’s definitely my temperature blanket. I started cataloguing the high temperature for each day in 2020 and crocheting a row in a color corresponding to a color chart I created. I ended up putting it down around April but swore I would pick it back up “when I had more time,” so I kept track of the temps ...yet I never picked it back up. I think I am gonna leave this blanket in 2020 where it belong. The question remains, what do I do with all the leftover yarn? 🤔🧶
What is a project you started in 2020 but aren’t going to continue working on in 2021? I’d love to know... I can’t be the only one leaving some projects in the dust lol.

I did this while watching Christmas movies! The entire room is filled so it looks like a winter wonderland. There is more then it looks in the picture and is way more impressive in person. Im going to keel them up all winter 😊💜❄

The one on the right was purchased. The smaller one was the one my grandson and I made. It's now a memory... 🤣
