Help us write some Mighty affirmations!

One of our favorite things we’ve ever built on The Mighty is our affirmations feature. We launched it over seven months ago (!) and it’s been such a joy to see you retrieve them, share them, and — when we’re especially lucky — read your reflections.

But now it’s your turn. 🎉 Up until this point, I’m the only person who has written them, but now I’d love to turn over the creative reins to the community and see what you all come up with. (I know it’ll be brilliant!)

You can submit one affirmation, a few, or hit all of the categories: In Physical Pain, Anxious, Depressed, Pretty Good, Lonely, and Hopeful.

🧠 Here are a few things to think about: Mighty affirmations are not your average motivational quotes because they’re written from the perspective of someone who lives with a health condition (or three!). Ask yourself, what would you want to hear in your darkest moments? What encouragement would get you through the night? Or on a high pain day? How would you want others to cheer you on? Our Mighty tone is conversational and approachable, so keep that in mind while you’re being creative. (In general, we try to avoid toxic positivity and opt instead for validation.)

📣 One more note: Submitting an affirmation does not necessarily mean it’ll be chosen for The Mighty (and if it is chosen, we might slightly edit it), but that doesn’t mean your efforts go to waste — learning what messages resonate with our community is so important to our growth and mission. Your voice does not go unheard!

#chronic pain #positive vibes#dsily reflections and journal,#52small things,#paperwork ##Distract me,#Music #coloring apps#Gratitude
Grateful for a new day and for a walk to several stores n home. Visit with my MH peer support person who helped me get copies of paperwork to send away for heat assistance. We've been fortunate to have good weather so far and now gonna be December. We had clouds, sun and now cloudy again but no Rain yet.
I did some chores but relaxed early today. I've been using my coloring apps on my phone as distraction and grounding. Calms me and I have a finished product that I can share with my friends. When I have power issues I have colored pencils and books .
I made a salad of open romaine leaves, avacado, parmesan cheese, chicken, broccoli slaw and homemade BBQ sauce Yummy!
Now relaxing on my bed with feet up in the air cuz oh my, they are achy breakup .
Going to sign off for the day. Take care mighties!

Water

I find it helpful to start my day with 16oz of water each morning, first thing before breakfast. Before I leave home, fill a large water bottle to drink from so that I don't go hours without water/fluids, or drink lots of sugar. It really does help my ability to think clearly and feel better.

Between thoughts

#52small things...I do Chemo once a week. Sit in chair for treatment. When I enter I get anxious. When nurse appears I am not sure to be quiet & talk only to answer questions or talk a little. I am hypervigalant & notice a chat between nurses close to me hear some jokey comments. Leave very in question what to do. 2. What does Pink mean for Cancer...warm, fuzzy, caring, and/or? #52SmallThings

You can do it! #52small things

I need all the help and support I can get. My whole life has crashed and I need to raise up from the ashes and fly again.
