What’s something you can try this weekend?

Let’s broaden our horizons this weekend by trying something new or different. This can look like checking out a new restaurant, trying white noise to help you sleep, traversing a new trail, or starting a new art or craft project! Whatever you want to try, give it a go over the next few days.

What do you want to try?

Taking care of yourself

Taking care of your mental health can feel uncomfortable at first, but that discomfort is often a sign of growth. Setting boundaries might make you feel guilty, when it’s actually teaching you self-respect. Going to therapy might make you feel broken, when it's actually helping you heal. Saying no might feel selfish, when it's actually protecting your peace. Slowing down might feel lazy, when it’s actually restoring your energy. Growth rarely feels like progress in the moment, but that’s because you’re becoming someone stronger, more grounded, and more free. Keep going. You’re becoming someone your future self will thank you for.

What’s one small mental health decision you’ve made recently that felt hard but helped? Let’s celebrate those wins below.

~ Thanks to all. Thanks for all. ~

Write something true about yourself.

As people, we are multifaceted, complex, and dynamic, with many truths shaped by our life experiences, perspectives, and understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Yes, we live with and navigate different health conditions that greatly impact our lives and daily routines. But we also wear many hats and continuously learn and adapt, which helps shape our identity as humans.

Let’s get to know one another in the comments below by sharing one or more truths about ourselves.

What holds you back from trying new things?

👍 Pro: Trying new things can put us in positions to learn and grow our perspectives and skills.
👎 Con: It can also be intimidating, especially when we might not know what to expect or when there’s a possibility for setback or failure.

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks finds that she holds herself back from trying new things because she’s afraid she might not do a good job in learning or understanding what she needs to be good at in the first place.

What do you think holds you back from trying new things? (P.S. Trial and error is a normal part of life, not everyone succeeds at everything!)

What topics, skills, or hobbies are you most curious about?

When we put ourselves out there and broaden our horizons, we’re allowing our curiosity to take the lead (that can be scary, but rewarding!). This can look like: learning a new language, trying a different type of art or cuisine, taking a chance on an entirely new career path, or dabbling with a new-to-us movement or exercise.

What topics, skills, or hobbies spark your curiosity? What interests you most?
