I'm new here!
Hi, my name is MarmotVarmint. I'm here because I have a hidden disability that is a rare disease and chronic illness. I am also a support group leader for like-minded sufferers and would like to learn more about how to help them.

Mighties, imagine making a living doing something that brought you joy and that you genuinely looked forward to each day. I've been thinking about that a lot lately.
My first thought was doing absolutely nothing (imagine just waking up every day and somehow that's how we make a living! 😂). But realistically, I really enjoy being creative in community spaces. Along with still being part of this Mighty community, I would love to facilitate creative workshops with unlimited resources and supplies. I'd also love to have creative ideas flowing through my imagination like water.
In my ideal world, life wouldn't revolve so heavily around finances. Instead, it would center on community, support, creativity, and sharing knowledge and insight with one another.
What about you? If you could make a living doing something you truly enjoy and look forward to, what would that look like?

Going outside can affect each of us in different ways depending on the weather, temperature, time of year, symptoms we may experience, or medications we might be on.
Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks finds it very beneficial for her mental health to go out in the spring and early summer months, while in the winter months she finds going outside to be more challenging especially for her physical health.
What about you? How does being outside affect your health?

There was a time in my life when I genuinely believed there was no point continuing.
Depression had convinced me that nothing would ever change.
That no matter how hard I tried, I would always feel this way.
I was wrong.
Sometimes the only thing that kept me going was finding one reason not to quit.
One person.
One goal.
One dream.
One tiny piece of hope that refused to disappear.
When life gets difficult, it’s easy to focus on everything that’s going wrong.
Instead, try asking yourself:
Why did I start fighting in the first place?
Your reason doesn’t have to be big.
It just has to be strong enough to help you take one more step.
And sometimes, one more step is all it takes.
What’s your reason for not giving up?

What do you like to do when you go outside? Do you like to sit and relax? Read a book or paint? Go hiking or camping? Walk your dog? Play sports, or maybe take a stroll (or roll) in a nearby park?

Hi Mighties! 💌
We've arrived at another Mighty Cheer Check-In! 🗓️🚦🙌
To kick off June, let's share some reasons we're proud of ourselves right now. It could be something you've accomplished, a decision you've made, something you realized wasn't right for you, a boundary you set by saying "no," a challenge you stepped outside your comfort zone to face, something you spoke up about, or even something you chose to leave for another day.
What are you proud of yourself for today? Share in the comments below. We're proud of you, too! 🥳👏

Let’s put on our backpacks 🎒 and sunscreen🧴and talk about the great outdoors this week!
Whether it’s to get some sunlight (or shade!), have fun, travel to work or school, run some errands, walk your dog, or take care of other responsibilities (like endless doctors’ appointments), venturing outside is almost always a reality for us on a daily basis. For some, this is a part of a regular routine, but for others, not so much. Sometimes health and other factors prohibit outside time and we totally get and hold space for that, too.
What is your experience with the great outdoors? Do you spend a lot of time getting fresh air, or does it depend on your health playing nice?

One of the cruelest things about depression is that it can make the future feel impossible.
Not because the future is hopeless.
But because depression changes the way you see it.
It can convince you that you’ve already missed your chance.
That you’ve fallen too far behind.
That your story is already over.
But feelings are not always facts.
Some of the strongest people you know once believed they would never make it through what they were facing.
And yet they did.
Healing does not always begin with confidence.
Sometimes it begins with surviving one more day.
Sometimes it begins with refusing to give up on yourself.
You are still becoming.
Have you ever gone through a period where you genuinely believed things would never get better?
