🏁 ‘Slow’ is better than ‘No’! 🏁

When you’re living with chronic health issues, regardless of whether they are physical, mental, or both, have you noticed how much pressure that you put on yourself to make as much progress as you possibly can? Like more progress will somehow ‘fix’ everything and make everything better? Like the more progress you make demonstrates how much you want to get better? Like if you’re not making enough progress then you’re somehow not making enough effort to get better or that it means that you’re somehow failing in your journey? It’s something that I have started recognising in myself, and I have started to realised that the more I push myself to make as much progress as possible, the worse I actually end up making things. And I’m sure that I am not the only person who does this to themselves. How many times have you pushed yourself so hard to make as much progress as possible but all you actually end up doing is causing yourself more stress, more pain, and more setback than progress? It’s so easy to loss track of the small victories, and we don’t realise that making SLOW progress is actually better than making NO progress at all, or, even worse, setting yourself further back than you already were. I know it’s not easy, in fact I don’t think that I have come anywhere close to achieving this revolution but it’s time that we start going a bit easier on ourselves and realising that it’s important that we recognise that the ‘small’ wins, the littlest progress, IS enough, and sometimes even more than enough!

Treat yourself

Yesterday I got my booster shot and I haaaaate needles 💉 🙈 So afterwards instead if rushing back to work , Ingot myself a bubble waffle with icecream, fruits and whipped cream😋. Something I always wanted to try. So sitting in the sun and enjoying the waffle, a feeling of pride hit me - i treated myself to sth I always wanted to try and enjoyed every bite of it.
So treat yourself to the little things that give you joy. You deserve them. Some coffee or tea, a five minute break (in the sun), whatever you can to make your live good. One of your most important jobs. You deserve it. 🧡 #Depression #Anxiety #BorderlinePersonalityDisorder #emotionalinstability #Treatyourself

I don't like Mondays. I just don't.
Not all Mondays, but most.

Cliché? Perhaps, but many people do struggle with Sundays, knowing that Mondays are just a few hours away.

I always try to be as kind as possible to myself on a Monday and if I can, I allow myself some "me" time. I make sure I schedule in something that makes me happy.

You don't always have do what everyone else does. Cope in your own way. No-one's healing looks the same. That's what makes us unique.

Take a minute or ten. Be still, breathe and just be with yourself. You know what's best for you. Listen to your mind and body and learn to trust your inner voice.
It's definitely okay to look after your own needs.

Breakfast smoothie? Breakfast icecream 😅

After having one of the shittiest mornings in a week with crying and going back to bad after taking a shower cause I just couldn’t anymore, I decided that it is my task to at least do one good thing for myself today - a lovely breakfast. I went to the bakery. I was gonna make myself a smoothie with banana and raspberry....And it ended up being more like icecream.😅 Will definitely repeat that in the summer.
Sometimes there really is a rainbow after the rain.

How will you treat yourself this weekend? #52SmallThings

Welcome to Friday, Mighties. You did it! After a long week, you might want to treat yourself to a little indulgence as a reward. Maybe you had a busy week at work or home (or “work from home”). Or maybe you had a taxing health appointment or two. Or maybe it was all of the above! Whatever made the week treat-worthy for you, we’re here to help you celebrate — especially if receiving gifts is one of your love languages.

This treat doesn’t have to cost a single penny, unless of course you want it to. You could spend create something using craft supplies in your house already. You can grab a book from your bookshelf you’ve been meaning to read. Or maybe you prefer to “fire up” the Netflix queue and curl up on the couch for the evening. Whatever you choose, let us know how you plan to treat yourself this weekend for a week well done.

Raspberries
Blackberries
