A Lifelong Love of Music and Pop Culture

Pop culture has been my trusty sidekick since childhood, starting when I was a kid and getting to pick the music for my heart catheterization. That small, seemingly insignificant moment was the beginning of my lifelong love of music. Although my parents instilled in me a passion for music, it's grown exponentially over the years. In fact, I spent nearly 20 years as a Virtual DJ!

Chronic health issues can be a rollercoaster ride when you feel like you have no control over all the twists and turns life and our health can take. But through it all, pop culture has been a beacon of light for me, a portal to worlds of wonder and excitement, bringing joy and comfort even in the darkest of times.

Video games, movies, books, and music have been my ultimate escape, providing comfort and joy in the face of adversity. Today, various genres of music, along with other forms of entertainment, continue to help me manage my mood and anxiety, from calming ocean sounds for relaxation to classical music for battling insomnia.

P.S. You might be curious about my name. I'll admit, that I wasn't always a fan of the 'princess' title, but I've come to embrace it because, to me, princesses represent hope, dreams, and all things positive.

Sketchers is having a boot sale 👢💜

I put Sketchers Rue Studded boots on my wishlist and on my calendar as a reward for reaching a long term goal. I'm just weeks away from reaching this long term goal and so tempted to buy them while they're 30% off.

What is the best choice for me? I could finish my project in style and save money. Or I might appreciate that present me stuck to my goal, and feel a deeper sense of gratitude. How does waiting matter? #goals #goalsetting #rewards #receiving #EASE #Fibromyalgia #Allodynia #ChronicPain #pace

Fibromyalgia and anxiety

If anyone would have told me add end a basket of nerves I would never believe them. Of late I have noticed that my speech is in slow motion it's like the amygdala (front lobe) and my speech is disconnected. I am freaking out.

My nerves are anxious, I want to run but to where I don't know. I have to get out of my house which I don't usually do because it feels like trembling with anxiety. What happened to me? This has such a negative view of my future it's hard to bear. I am sitting on bench watching the world go by.

Living successfully with fibromyalgia #

I just read the article on 19 scary thoughts of FM and recognise a lot of the issues people are dealing with.
I was #diagnosed 15 years ago and off work for four months during which I tried to #learn as much as possible about the condition and what my #triggers were for #FlareUps . I was single and had a #mortgage to pay off. There was a time I could hardly #move and get in or out of #bed . What really #helped was my personal #Acceptance of FM. In order to #pace myself I returned to work 4 days a week with the Wednesday as my day off. The other thing that really #worked was to keep #moving so I went for short #walks with my dog and #learned #Yoga and #Meditation . I didn’t #dwell on the things I #couldn ’t do but #focused on the things I #could or could do #different . I stayed away from #negative people and surrounded myself with those who had a #positive #outlook on life.
It did take quite a few #years to #learn to #live with FM but once #mastered I found that one still could have a #good life with FM. So the main #ingredients were #knowledge , #Acceptance , #Meditation , #Yoga , #pacing , a #can do #attitude , and #positive #outlook and #people in your life.
