Finally feeling better

My migraine went away, I haven't had the runs today, and I fixed my fridge. The day is getting better. I have been trying to get my earrings in but so far I've only gotten one of them in. I got some really cool earrings. Unicorn skeletons, spiked tiny hoops, and skulls with chains.

My mom told me boys don't wear jewelry. Every boy I know wears necklaces or bracelets and rings. I wish my mom could understand genderqueer so she would know how I feel. But she's not ever going to understand. Oh well. Ya win some, ya lose some.

My mom doesn't like me but I got her a mother's Day gift anyway

She lets me know she doesn't approve of my life... But she says she wants me to be happy. So I try to be nice and show her that my life is a happy one. I ordered her a gift today. It's a raspberry vanilla scent candle that says "moms last nerve. Oh look... It's on fire". I think it's the perfect gift. I really hope she likes it. It's reminiscent of the raspberry tart cookies that I send her for her birthday. She really likes raspberry. I think she's gonna like it.

So I continue to 🛌📻📱🫖🥪🍫📚😔😔

May 1st

May 1st is my favorite holiday. It's a Celtic spring festival called Beltane. Traditional things to do are running ribbons around the maypole and weaving flowers into crowns . It's a really joyful celebration. My patron goddess, Brigid, is celebrated. I don't have any plans for celebrating this year. But it's nice to think about.

I completed my chore today

I filled 4 bags of trash and took them plus one cardboard box to the dumpster today. It took 2 trips. My back really hurts now. But I'm very proud of myself. The only task left for the day is to take my night meds before 10pm. I'm so proud of how focused I have been the last 5 days. I want to make her proud of me. And I want her to feel proud of being with me. I'm not perfect but I love with all I've got. #CheerMeOn #Relationships

What are your dental hygiene habits?

Brushing, flossing, and cleaning our teeth is, quite frankly, a hygiene task that most non-disabled folks take for granted. There are a lot of things that can make it hard: mobility issues, depression, brain fog (sometimes you just forget!), sensory sensitivities, and chronic pain to name a few. It can also be especially tough if you have an autoimmune disease like #SjogrensSyndrome or #Lupus where you produce less spit than the “average Joe.”

So, on that note, what are your habits? Is it hard for you? Is it something you do no matter where your money and body are at for the day? What tips do you have? (Gentle reminder: This is a safe space. No judgement about what you can or can’t do!)

🦷 P.S. Here’s a good Mighty story about the topic, too: How Long-Term Hospitalization Severely Impacted My Dental Health

Today's chore is done

On the app my girlfriend and I are using some tasks required photos for proof of completion. For instance, today my chore was cleaning my kitchen counter. Washing stains, organizing non food items, throwing away trash, and putting away food and organizing my tea and coffee station. It took me 45 minutes to finish. I took the picture and submitted it on the app. My girlfriend is at a chiropractor appointment right now so when she is done she'll see the photo proof and approve it. It's a once per week chore so it's worth 5 points. I'm halfway to earning a sticker. More importantly I am making my girlfriend proud of me and I am very proud of myself. I have always thrived with structure.
