    🩻 I’m back! 🩻

Sorry, I’ve been a bit absent recently! I hope you didn’t think I’d forgotten about you all? You’ll be glad to hear that my chiropractor fixed me so now I’m back (pun intended 🩻🤗🤣)!! My body may be held together by Kinesiology Tape but it helps when you can have some fun with it! 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 I’d be lost, in agony, and falling apart, without my amazing chiropractor!!
    👏🏻😍😘💝

Shoutout to the spoonies who use compression garments!

I've just started wearing 30mmHg waist-high compression, and it's CRAZY how much effort it takes to get the darn things ON! I can't help but laugh as I wrestle myself into them. "I don't always exercise, but when I do, it's the 30 minutes of trying to put on compression pants". Haha. Although in all fairness, compression has been INCREDIBLY helpful for my POTS symptoms. And if I'm not mistaken, it has also been excellent for feeling secure (gotta love that PTSD, Panic Disorder, and Depression). Overall 10 out of 10, even if it takes a whole spoon to get into them.

💗Trying To End The Year Positively 💗

As it’s the end of what has been a very difficult year for so many of us, for one reason or another. So, rather than face the fast approaching New Year with sadness, disappointment, and dread, I would like to try to end the year on a positive note by thinking of the GOOD things that have happened to me in 2022. Three GOOD things that happened to me this year are:
    1) Discovered a new hobby,
    2) Attended events that had been rescheduled from 2020,
    3) Becoming part of an amazing FND support network!

Can you name 3 GOOD things that have happened to you this year?

    Rest Can Be Triggering

If you have spent a lot of time in hospitals or institutions or forced to lie in bed, rest can be very triggering. When you spend long periods of your life forced not to do anything, rest can feel like a punishment. Medical and psychiatric trauma are real.

At this time of year, we can get a lot of messaging about rest and productivity that lack nuance. So this post is a shoutout to all of our sick, crip, mad, and disabled community out there who struggle with finding Crip space for rest. You are valid too.

    Work uses every spoon 😣

I work four 8 hour days a week. My job uses all of my spoons for the day. Anyone else deal with this? I literally get nothing else done because I can’t and then I play catch up on the weekend. How do y’all deal with it? #SpoonTheory #Sarcoidosis #PolycysticOvarySyndrome #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis #HypothyroidismUnderactiveThyroidDisease #Depression #Anxiety

    🤔 Why can’t they just agree?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m pretty sure that anyone living with chronic pain/health issues will have heard the phrase “You need to listen to your body.” I know that I’ve heard it more times than I can count, and I suspect that I’m not the only one who has lost count of how many times they’ve heard it over the years. In theory, it sounds simple enough - do what your body tells you to do, when your body tells you to do it - but, in reality, it’s no where near as easy as it seems because trying to get your brain to agree with your body can be quite the challenge. It’s like your brain says “Let’s do this…” or “Let’s do that”, while your body says “There’s no way I’m doing that! I’m way too sore/exhausted to be doing anything.” It’s like trying to referee a debate that only you can hear. Wouldn’t it be great if the two could just get along with each other every once in a while? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔🤗😂
