How do you feel when you have to cancel plans?

Yesterday we published a story (you can read it below) about what goes through a chronically ill person's head when their condition makes them cancel plans. It really resonated with me.

    themighty.com/2022/01/feelings-chronic-illness-cancel-plans

Lately I think I've been feeling emotion #4 (frustrated) on Christina's list. I want so badly to participate and be "normal" and the fact that my body makes that near-impossible is really getting to me. I'm not sad about it, I'm mostly sitting in a pocket of rage.

    What about you?

How do you know when you’ve been in (or are currently in) a toxic relationship?

Have you ever found yourself in a toxic relationship? It could be a familial, romantic, platonic (e.g., neighbors), or a professional relationship (e.g., coworkers). If so, today’s featured Mighty story is a good one. Read it below. ⬇️

    themighty.com/2021/11/toxic-relationships-stop-the-cycle

For me, I think the most toxic relationship I ever had was with a previous boss of mine. I was in the beginning stages of my career and it sometimes felt like the walls were caving in (not the best feeling to have in a work environment). I was constantly questioned as to what I was working on (and being phoned even if I had already answered the query in an email about a certain task). He would even open up my desk to eat my snacks — sounds trivial, but it always felt like a big boundary that was being crossed. To get out of it, I ultimately quit. This led to a series of events which included a big move, but looking back, I’m proud of myself for making those decisions.

    What about you?
