Anxiety and illness anxiety over difficulty sleeping

First off, happy holidays. I hope that you all make great strides in the coming year.

Anyway, I have had great difficulty falling asleep over the past few days which is, thankfully, unusual for me. However, my brain automatically went to the worst case scenario and now I’m worrying that I am developing a fatal illness or, on a lighter note, just won’t ever sleep easily again. Any advice for handling this?

Anxiety - What I Should Do vs What I Need

When I have severe anxiety coming on, I feel the need to curl up into a ball with a heavy blanket on me and kind of comfort myself lovingly. But I hear people suggest lying on a hard floor on my back with my feet on the floor, knees up. Sounds useful but I prefer curling up in a ball with a blanket. Am I not wrong about this? I feel comforted and eventually the anxiety wears off. Does it matter how I care for myself during anxiety attacks? BTW, sometimes I do the laying on a hard floor, but only sometimes. #Anxiety #IllnessAnxietyDisorder #BipolarDisorder #GeneralizedAnxietyDisorder

Migraines, Life-Long (Suicidal) Depression, A Real Desire to be with my Lord and Saviour, More Debt than I can afford

Living with Life-Long Suicidal Depression since at least 4-years-old (mid 1970s); and Migraine Headaches that have been regular (at least 1 to 2 times a week [more weeks now are turning in to at least 2 days] since the mid 1990s) and many other health problems that are on and off weekly or monthly; Extra Debt that I was pressed in to; which can cause me to lose the house, SSDI so it is hard to earn extra money to get out of Debt; and with Life-Long Suicidal Depression, in addition to the Major Pains, I really have been desiring more to be able to go Home to be with my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I would greatly appreciate any feed back.

Health Anxiety

#HealthAnxiety #Anxiety

Health anxiety is an obsessive and irrational worry about having a serious medical condition. It’s also called illness anxiety, and was formerly called hypochondria. This condition is marked by a person’s imagination of physical symptoms of illness.

Or in other cases, it’s a person’s misinterpretation of minor or normal body sensations as serious disease symptoms despite reassurance by medical professionals that they don’t have an illness.

Illness anxiety disorder, sometimes called hypochondriasis or health anxiety, is worrying excessively that you are or may become seriously ill. You may have no physical symptoms. Or you may believe that normal body sensations or minor symptoms are signs of severe illness, even though a thorough medical exam doesn't reveal a serious medical condition.

You may experience extreme anxiety that body sensations, such as muscle twitching or fatigue, are associated with a specific, serious illness. This excessive anxiety — rather than the physical symptom itself — results in severe distress that can disrupt your life.

Illness anxiety disorder is a long-term condition that can fluctuate in severity. It may increase with age or during times of stress. But psychological counseling (psychotherapy) and sometimes medication can help ease your worries.
