    You Walk Your Talk

    You walk-your-talk, you harvest

    the mini acts of triumph,

    recuperate and integrate

    your nervous system's present time

    organization of the past,

    the way the inescapable mistreatment

    replaced your human longing to connect

    with self-protection patterns on default;

    You name your triggers, learn to

    manage your flashbacks, you master

    grounding techniques,

    and all that jazz

    until primroses heralding your win-win,

    and all that seems so hard today

    becoming your warm-up.

    Watched sports on TV as a distraction of my flashbacks, gonna color some today, fed my hummingbirds and greased the pole to keep ants away! Took a walk to the store and back. Grateful for a calm and safe day!

    🎶THE PAST IS IN THE PAST🎶

    I'm finding it difficult to stop obsessing over the past and future, but grounding techniques tend to help with that. #DBT

    Name three things around you from each of the 5 senses. Sight, sound, taste, smell and touch. That's a trick that helps me to come down from a flashback, panic attacks, and helps ease my dissociation.

    What’s your favorite breathing exercise to ground yourself? #52SmallThings

    When you’re feeling overwhelmed, it might be tough to remember the many different ways to ground yourself, but one thing you can do is focus on your breathing. Maybe you have a favorite way to calm your racing mind and vibrating body. Perhaps it’s through belly breathing or square breathing. Or maybe you like to practice “bee breathing” if you’re in a space where you can make a humming sound. Whichever it is, share your favorite technique in the comments below!

    I did it!

    What’s one thing you do that feels calming to your soul? Some of my younger parts like to paint and when they are become focused on working on something it calms our entire system (i.e. calms me down, calms other parts and calms the nervous system) #DissociativeIdentityDisorder #TraumaRecovery #grounding #copingskills #Art #CPTSD
