The Power of Our Community Is The Beauty From The Pain 💝💜💛 #Community #Beauty #ChronicBeauty #MentalHealth #Depression #Friends

For every person in our lives that left us in the horrible ways that they did-
We have new, amazing friendships forged here.

For every person that treats us despicably-even family, friends, and even medical professionals, and adds layers onto our other related past traumas we have been healing from, we only have to open The Mighty app and reach out to each other and we can count on the most beautiful, empathetic souls reaching back to be by our side so fast.

For every morning we wake up with pain coursing through our bodies and/or our minds from illnesses that are beasts, together we pull from each others’ inspiration and strength and we fight through each day as the warriors that we have become.

For any time we feel so alone in this, we can always post or join in a conversation here and see that we are never fighting our fight alone/never dealing with the hard blows of this kind of life alone.

For any time situations in our life cause very real anxieties that are overwhelming for anyone to handle, there is an army of us right here living in solidarity to help quell our anxieties.

For anytime we feel like we don’t exist, that we aren’t seen, that we aren’t valued and valuable, so many of us Mighties will always quickly let us know how incredibly important each of us are, and how cared about we all are by so many of us from all places around the world.

And this is all a great, bright light from the darkness. This is all a comforting balm to soothe the pain coursing through our bodies and our minds.
This is what makes us all rich instead of feelings of living in scarcity.
These are all the gifts that we have been given that is greater than any gift you could ever think you wanted.

We are each others’ wings that allow us to soar above it all.

Sorrow won’t be finding us no more when we know all of these things.
Emptiness and hopelessness cannot exist when we know these things.
We have so much to be joyful about.

Let us all keep seeing all of the beauty and gifts from the pain.

Let us all keep rising stronger together and show this world all of the greatness that we are, even on our worst days.

Let us all continue to save each other and continue to save ourselves.
That ultimately is the power we have and the responsibility we have - it ultimately is up to us to be the change that we want for ourselves and for others.

Invitation To A New Community

Can we just say "I have anxiety"? Like someone calls off work for having a stomach bug. Or someone says "I treat my diabetes". What if we could say, "I'm having a panic attack and I need to go home" or "I'm feeling really anxious, can you give me some space"? You might be called a crazy person by some people in some places. Can we normalize it though? Can we make a change? We can try.

The Bird (Poem. Hope this makes you smile)

The Bird:
Give me the life of the bird.
Swallowed in crimson clouds,
And scarlet shrouds.
Breathless, weightless not a sound to be heard.
Bring me the rising dawn
On high above the restless seas.
Wings whip over mists and trees.
Through the night she flies on.
The sun at her front, the blue at her back.
She breaks through morning rays,
Of muted hues and tinted grays.
The colors run in white and black.
Then the rising dawn commence.
And all the colors blossom bright.
Amid her early morning flight.
The patterns tense.
Give me the life of the bird.
Let me soar with the red balloons
And touch the face of moons.
And never return.
Let my wings expand.
Let me kiss the breeze,
Over mother earth with ease.
And all of man.
Above the rain and snow.
I glide the air,
Without a care,
Wherever I go, I go.

Chronic Pain

Dealing with chronic pain is like running into a brick wall, everyday.

People ask how you are doing, but you say you're fine because deep down, you don't think they actually want to hear the answer. You assume they are just being polite. So you go about your day in silence, but in agony.

Your mental health becomes gravely impacted because you are struggling to fight it alone. You have no answers, no cure, just your voice in your head screaming at you to make it stop.

You wake up everyday fighting, which in return leaves you mentally and physically exhausted. But people look at you and see nothing wrong. It makes you burn inside more. You know the pain is there because YOU can feel it.

You get labeled as attention seeking, or medication seeking when you are really just looking for help because at the end of the day, it is too hard to fight alone.

Chronic pain leads to suicide as much as mental health does. There is a stigma behind it because just like mental health, if you can't see it, people assume it doesn't exist.

On Activism

Today I am marching in the #climatestrike2019 in Toronto Canada. Part of my #MentalHealthCare plan is to get involved in my community. In that spirit I am setting my intention today that I will go out into the world with love, compassion and hope for a future where we can fix ourselves, our communities and our planet. I am so proud because I am marching with a lot of people from my family and I have been blessed with an amazing family that loves and supports me even if we dont see each other often.

I may feel some #Anxiety today because I am putting myself in a situation where I am in a crowd of thousands of people where I normally avoid crowds. But surrounding myself with the people is helping me stay focused because I believe the cause is worth my possible discomfort. #savetheplanetsaveyourself #BeTheChange #makeplanetearthgreenagain #purposefilledlife
