My husband gave me a kiss on the cheek telling me a did a good job at dinner tonight. However, I get intrusive thoughts of “still not good enough” come across my mind because they were left over chili he made that I just reheated, salad I put together and a directional box of cornbread. 😞 Why does this happen all the time? I never voiced it publicly to strangers online before. It’s always been my friends and family on Facebook but I don’t want to be that Debbie Downer or that Attention Seeker. Being strong minded is very hard. What’s this nonsense about it being wrong for wanting attention? We are not Islands but meant to be in community as humans, whether we’re children, teenagers, adults or seniors. Attention means helping each other, encouraging each other and not going through this life alone. Attention means I need help, I can’t do this by myself. If we are honest, we all want attention , it helps us on this journey called life. Dam rights I want attention. Don’t you? Let’s freely give each other attention that is so needed. Whether at home, on the street, on the bus, at work, at school, hospital, senior centre, mall. Darn right we all need plenty of attention.

I realized that I seek attention and validation from specific persons, and sometimes I wish something bad to happen to me so I would get their attention. Can anyone relate to this? This makes me feel hopeless...
