Changed the name of the group

Hello friends! You will notice I change the name of the group, even though the purpose of the group has not changed, I want to focus on the journey and not the destination.

This summer, I really want to continue my outdoor adventures and have as much time as I can with the people I love. What are your summer goals?

    Allow me to introduce myself

Hey everyone! I am Mama Cookie, also known as Beth. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Underactive Thyroid, PTSD and am currently being tested for Addison's Disease/Adrenal Disease. I am an amateur Actor and Voice Actress, my first movie begins filming fully next month (extremely excited!). I'm British but now live in the USA and am loving every minute of it. I've been married for 6 months to one of the most amazing men in the world. He is so supportive and caring for me, especially when my flares are bad. I am still coming to terms with allowing myself to use mobility aids to help move around easier after so many years of being told I was making it up or it was all in my head. #Fibromyalgia

Let’s engage our senses! Use your senses to describe your most relaxing spot.

I can smell the green of the grass and trees.
I can feel the last bit of the warm sun on my face and the slight breeze.
I can taste the cool water on my lips.
I can feel the twigs snap under my shoes.
I can see the beauty of nature all around me.
I can hear the birds chirping and honking.

    Letting go, getting time

It has been close to a year since I was officially diagnosed with Addison’s Disease. I’ve learned a lot about the disease, how it has affected-and will continue to affect-me, and what I need to do to manage life with that knowledge. One thing I have learned is that time is incredibly valuable.

Yesterday I further learned how to apply that in the often mundane activities of being an accountant. I felt empowered holding others accountable for their mistakes and giving them the opportunity to learn. Almost everyone received my various emails and phone calls positively.

It felt good to let things go. It felt better to know I have a good team working with me. #AddisonsDisease #AdrenalInsufficiency

    Feeling more like myself

I am feeling and looking more like myself. When I was really sick I didn’t look like me. I had bald spots, a round face from too much steroids, I couldn’t walk, I just didn’t look or feel like me. Now when I see pictures of myself, I see myself again.

Taking care of my health and my house is a full-time job, and I am often exhausted and always in pain, but there is so much joy and I am so grateful for this second chance to soak up as much as I can. Root canal tomorrow and bronchoscopy on Monday, fingers crossed that everything goes well. Thank you all for your support and I hope you have a wonderful day.

    My Tree

When I was a kid I would climb this tree with my childhood best friend. Today I went to see it and discovered it had died. It is still beautiful in it’s death, but I was sad to see it was not the same. The wood is soft and disintegrating, but it will turn into something new, fertilizer for the next life to grow.

In some ways I feel like this tree, a part of me died, but out of that a new version has grown. The seed, the core of who I am is still here, but something new has grown from it. It’s not the same, but still beautiful.?

Do you get a “ fun hangover”?

For those of us with multiple health conditions, there is a cost to everything we do, and often we get what I like to call the fun hangover. Do you get one and if so, what do you do to recuperate?
