The best choice of letting something go I've made was my previous two workplaces. They taught me invaluable life lessons, but it was time to go after a year or a year and a half, and I am thankful I did. "While you expressed #Gratitude for the #Opportunity to provide visibility on the subject of abuse toward the 2SLBGTQIA+ #Community , you felt that #CBC made choices which diluted your appearance. It left you feeling, if not misrepresented, then underrepresented."
It feels as if #CBC chose to represent me as what I interpret as inept, powerless, and stuck with candy-coated concerns because who I am isn't palatable enough for Canadians who can't cope that #people such as myself strive to inspire and create #change .
#social platforms highlighted my segment as being of the utmost importance on an issue that had not been placed front and centre in the campaign until my appearance.
I continued to focus much of my argument on the treatment of my introductory video. I emphasized how problematic it was that this video highlighted "my love for #Sports and karaoke" while omitting more substantive #Comments about the importance of placing responsibility for bigotry and hate-based abuse on the abusers rather than the victims.
"I'm an undecided voter because" and "Let's be #leaders …" were extracted from two completely different sections of what I provided. #CBC created that line and not me, and I'm not sure if that is conducive to "accuracy."
"You stated that you followed all the directives given to you in advance by producers, yet you were the only one of the four participants given less than 40 seconds of airtime."
"You also reiterated that #CBC exercised poor judgment when it failed to include your exchange about pronouns with #ErinOToole .”
#CBC watered me down and presented me with the safest, most palatable and most comfortable image they could build based on the information I provided.
"Your complaint is, first and foremost, a reminder that the stories journalists tell are not really "theirs." They are the stories of real #people with real lives, ambitions, and concerns."
Journalistic Standards and Practices covers much ground regarding ethical #Journalism but doesn't cover specific circumstances.
"There is more debate to be had about editing your introductory video … it's clear that those producers took two risks with your video."
"On your frustration that the #question you asked on the show was "negotiated," … I worried it meant that programmers were forcing you to ask the questions that they wanted."

Did you know that the American School for the Deaf opened in Hartford, Connecticut on April 15, 1817?
“There, teachers and students worked together and, by intermingling Native American Signs, French Sign Language, and even Martha’s Vineyard Sign Language, American Sign Language (ASL) was born.”
National ASL Day is celebrated every year on April 15. This day celebrates and honors American Sign Language. ASL serves as the main sign language of Deaf groups in the United States.
Growing up hearing impaired, I learned some sign language from a good friend of mine who is deaf. She and her family and friends taught me many things that I utilized and was greatly helpful. A few years ago, my grandmother lived in a building for deaf and blind seniors, I had the wonderful opportunity of communicating with them through ASL and connecting with them on a personal level due to my own circumstances of being hearing impaired and legally blind. Last year, I took some online/remote classes through the Helen Keller National Center and one of them was for communications, where I expanded my knowledge of sign language and learned more. I even got to learn about haptic signs and tactile sign language which I would greatly benefit from due to my blindness. I am so grateful for all the people I have learned more from and am so excited to teach others about ASL!
This day is a great opportunity to celebrate and learn more about sign language.
Do you or someone you know uses sign language? Ask them to teach you some words and phrases. You never know when it may be useful!

1 reaction I have been given the #Opportunity to go live in Qatar (when I turn #18 )for a couple years. I would be flown there for free and would be living their rent free. I would be living with my #Boyfriend in our own little apartment, his family would also be living in Qatar.
Does anyone have any information about what it is like for an American young adult woman to live there?
I know there are a lot of #steriotype things that I have imagined just because of things I have heard of the middle east. But I have also heard that #qatar is different.
If anyone has any #Information I would appreciate it. :)
I look back over the year, 2020…
vision gained? unsure.
a project completed? check.
have I become more kind?
red spirits drift across my eyes.
time continues. bodies age.
wrinkles and greys… opportunity and grace.
is there any key revelation? unsure.
the Mediator says that He’s coming back soon.
I almost hope it would be now,
to take us all home.
there’s an agreement in my spirit.
can I verbalise it? unsure.
He’s still working at redeeming my pain
with a gentle love that just won’t let me go.
my stubborn attempts at survival
dovetailing with truth and revival.
what’s the moral of this story? unsure.
as much as I long for closure,
2020 has left me with more questions than answers,
and so it seems fitting that my search will continue,
looking for brightness that trumps all artificial light.
our lamps are temporary, but God’s light is eternal.
did I get the benediction I seek? unsure,
but it’s certainly funny
that the last 2 verses of the bible
are 20 and 21.

the earth and sky break their dovetail.
they try to flee from the Presence,
but there’s no escaping
from this 20/20 vision…
no place to hide
from Almighty God
on His great white throne.
death and the grave hold power for now.
we all have found our mortal kindred spirit,
but there’s no escaping
from this revelation…
death has already been denied
by the Mediator
beside His great white throne.
the hungry and thirsty cry out.
they cry out for truth and love
but there’s no escaping
this opportunity for starvation…
one day, their hope and longing will be satisfied
from the river that flows
from the great white throne.
the curse and darkness are in agreement.
they themselves live in grace for now,
but there’s no escaping their termination…
there’s going to be no need for light
with Almighty God reigning
on His great white throne.
God’s name is written on our forehead.
His home will be among His people.
there’ll be no stopping this celebration…
these are the blessings in store for the upright,
the redeemed children of their Father
who sits on the great white throne.
