Warning - #Holiday #Depression #Anxiety - when going on holiday - what to prepare for that you may not have thought about - My 6 tips!

One of the biggest #trigger s to #desperation , and #Depression coupled with tremendous #Anxiety is the #unknowns - #Medication shortage fear is one.

#Holidays for anyone who lives with these #illnesses can be hugely #distressing !

I'd say that we're already feeling #anxious when preparing to go away, and yet, we aren't given the tools to help us, should a #Crisis set in while away in a Foreign Country, without our regular safe #drs near.

Here are my 6 tips that I hope will make your #Holiday pleasant.

Before packing your clothes, please ensure that you have ordered enough #Medication well in advance of your trip, and perhaps a little more of your #Medication than you usually take, as a precaution. Luggage gets lost. Flights get delayed. There's massive uncertainty with #COVID etc.

We absolutely have to feel #safe regarding our #meds - and it is #Dangerous should we find ourselves without our #meds and not being able to #GET replacements.

Tip 1. Always take your #Medication on board with you. Never let the bag with them out of your sight. - This gives a feeling of #Safety and #Comfort

Tip 2. Always have your #Doctors phone number and contact details both in your handbag, as well as the bag holding your #Medication .

Tip 3. When you arrive at your destination - before you unpack it's very important, for #peace of mind, to find out where the nearest #Dr and/or #Hospital is. Take their phone number and address. Keep these on you, plus a copy at your hotel or wherever you are staying. Believe me, this will save you #severe #Anxiety and stress, and you will be able to enjoy yourself.

Tip 4. You may very well be put into situations where you start to feel #anxious and possibly #afraid . It does not matter whether it 'makes sense' to anyone. Even if you are on the beach, #Anxiety can kick in. So always, if you are on anti#Anxiety #meds , take them with you. Always. It is also perfectly acceptable to leave if you feel it's overwhelming. #Migraines are my 'go-to' sadly due to no understanding of #mental illness.

Tip 5. If you find you wake up #depressed - remember that you do not have to get up just because the sun is shining. Be #Kind to yourself. Do something to distract you. TV, a book, whatever. Stay put in bed if you want to.

Tip 6. If you've arranged a dinner out with your friends, but come time to get ready, your #distress #Anxiety - or any other part of your #illness kicks in, it is perfectly okay to politely decline by feigning a #Migraine attack. Sometimes, #whitelies are necessary - with #mental illness. Then watch a good movie. :)

I hope these few tips help you. I went away recently, and thought I had adequate #Medication - but by week 3 - I was running out.

I have learned a valuable lesson. Nightmare! Never again...I now know better. Shew.

Weight Gain and Chronic Pain

Let's talk about #weightgain while we battle our #illnesses . Isn't it funny that doctors think we are sick because we are overweight, when in reality we are overweight because we are sick. We can't exercise like we used to and we can't afford all organic health foods because we spend so much on medications. When will doctors realize this 🙄

Sick and tired of being sick and tired

I'm #exhausted from my body's constant fight against itself.
I'm even more exhausted of homosapiens denouncing my #illnesses and trying their hardest to justify that they're more #tired than I am.

#Invisable #alone #lonely #isolated

Do #I remember the “old” #ME ? The #longevity and #prognosis of my many #illnesses makes me feel #hopeless . #Reality ... I’m #alone , #lonely , #isolated , and #haunted by wonderful memories of the “old” me. My #American #Dream #Shattered ... My life is a runaway train without direction. 😓 Where is #help , when help is needed? Not sure how to obtain a #Voice ...

#CheckInWithMe

Whether you've got a runny nose, a broken bone, an STD, or cancer....know this; you are being hugged by the angels of life at every moment. Regardless of who you are, you ARE loved and you matter in this world. Your pains, hurts, tears, they all matter. I am sorry that you are in a position of illness today but hang in there, sweetheart. You have the strength to get through anything and you will! Whether you're here on this earth for 1 second or 1 century, you mean something to this universe...tomorrow will be another day, just keep fighting and never give up. May love surround you today and forever. Big hugs

#CheckInWithMe

I've had such a hard week...my son will not come home and has been living with my parents and has gotten into a lot of trouble since living with then. Friday I have to go to the DMV with him to get his #restricted Drivers License. He lost his priveleges for having #Marijuana in his car. He has gotten in trouble at school too, yesterday being the most recent, he got referral to prinicpal for sleeping thru class & refusing to wake up per teacher. I'm doing better with #daily #ChronicPain but the emotional pain makes the physical pain alot worse! I feel like I'm failing as a mom and as a chronic pain patient...I haven't taken more meds or anything like that, I'm on a patch, but I feel like my pain is made so much worse with stress & knowing I have to be in court, at FMV, at school on days when I can't predict how I will be feeling.
I just need to say this out loud to someone besides family. I feel like my mom and stepdad are enabling bad behavior because my 16 year old never did this kind of stuff living with me and his father.
So #confused & feeling #anxious a lot. Panic attacks make my #ic flare up, and idk what to do. I have coping skills, but at a certain point enough is enough! Anyone ever feel like they're letting everyone down, even though they're not source of problem? I have been told that my son resents me bc of being sick...how do I react to that? How do I "change" that? My daughter age 12 a table the exact opposite about me and my #illnesses . Do #boys handle this differently than #Girls ? #Parents can any of you relate? #helpme # thoughts #flare #emotionalpain #physicalpain
