Hi, my name is EveyRosenbloom!
I am excited to introduce myself and share my story with you. Two years ago, I hit my lowest point and was struggling with severe anxiety and depression. It was a dark and difficult time, and I felt like there was no hope for me. But then, my daughter said something that changed everything: "Mommy, you can choose to be happy."
Those words inspired me to delve into the research and find all the ways I could pull myself out of the darkness. I ended up getting certified in positive psychology and the science of well-being as part of my own healing journey. And let me tell you, it has made all the difference. I went from being bedridden to completely getting my life back. The vertigo that had been plaguing me due to a vestibular migraine diagnosis faded, and I was able to start dancing and skating around the house with my kids and waking up early in the morning to swim and go ride horses.
I am happier than ever, and I don't take anything for granted. I continue to practice everything I learned – gratitude, journaling, affirmations, mindfulness, exercise, eating to beat depression and anxiety, filtering out unnecessary stressful content, and doing more of what makes me happy.
I also started a podcast called Choose to Be Happy, where I interview experts in the field of mental health every week to share with others how they too can be happy, regardless of their circumstances. I truly believe that anyone can choose to be happy, and I hope that my podcast can help inspire and empower others to do the same.

Hello Everyone,
After loosing my dad to a devastating accident I slipped into a deep depression. Shortly after my wife, my partner for 12 years asked for a separation. I don’t blame her. I wasn’t fun to be around nor was I kind. I escape life by working. Life hasn’t been the same. I try meditation but I have little attention span right now due to the overwhelming grief. I am trying my best as a single dad, we have two very young children. #PositiveVibes #Family #Depression
Compared to how I felt yesterday, today has been a godsend.
I’ve been proactive and driven to move on from my negative experiences the other night, and I’ve found myself looking positively towards the future.
I’m planning things like day trips away and social events not involving alcohol, as well as things that I can enjoy that help with my mental health.
Today I applied to be a Mental Health First Aider at work and I’m reaching out to UK mental health charities to see if I can put my writing skills to the test. I’m also engrossed in my own mental health website which is giving me comfort in it self.
It’s amazing how one day could be bad and another good. I just need to stay focused and continue to keep my head above water.
It's been a couple of weeks since I last had a depressive episode and I can honestly say that I'm beginning to feel like my old self.
I tried cutting out alcohol but found this too much of a challenge due to my social lifestyle - but I have learned to reduce my alcohol intake so it's more sociable than the constant partying I was doing before.
I've also cut out negative energies from my life - sometimes it doesn't matter how much you may like a person, if they're not being a positive influence in your life, you have to let go for your own wellbeing.
When I'm not working, sleeping, or spending time with friends, I write instead. I started my own mental health blog recently which helps - it gives me the chance to explore my own mental health problems while (hopefully) inspiring others about theirs.
At the weekend I had some sad news about the passing of a friend, but despite that bad news, I have managed to continue with life and not let my feelings get in the way.
Things aren't perfect but that's okay! I'm feeling better about my mental health and that's a great start.
